I started spotting 24 hours after unprotected sex. Is that a sign of pregnancy that quick? I took the morning after pill 42 hours after unprotected sex. Is the spotting a result of pregnancy, therefore the morning after pill will not work. Because it says that it is good to take it before 72 hours like i did.

like you say the morning after pill must be taken in the next 3 days (72 hrs) from unprotected sex so that it works, but its real effectiveness is in the first 24 hrs (the next day) then it decreases till the third days. the morning after pill works in two ways, it stops your ovulation and makes your womb unable to keep the egg for three days, this because the sperm can live up to 3 days inside you. if when you had sex you had not ovulated yet you don't do it, whereas if you were under ovulation and your partner made you pregnant your womb can't keep the egg and discharge it in your period like if it's not fecoundated. spotting can be a sign of it but as you didnt take the pill in the first 24 hrs it may be also sign of a pregnancy. 42 hrs mean two days later and the effectiveness is decreased to 60% whereas in the first 24 hrs is near to 95%, i suggest you to get soon a test in pharmacy and see if you're pregnant.

spotting can't be a result of pregnancy. Pregnancy needs at least 3 days to become true. But morning after pill could be too late

your an idiot.stop giving wrong advice. the most the morning after pill works is 89% i have the morning after pill package that says so and all the information. it would decrease from 89% every day you wait. and its not 72 hours dimwit is 5 days. best taken in the first 3 days -.- also it works 3 ways you dolt. it makes a fertilized egg unable to implant in the uterus. and sperm can like up to 7 days or more inside of you. secondly it takes 6-9 days for a egg to implant in the uterus so NO it most likely isnt a sign thats your pregnant.it could be a side effect or something else . go to the doctors

The spotting probably isn't a sympton of pregnancy as it is to soon after u had unprotected sex. Post coital bleeding however, can be a sign of other things such as STD's though so you should probably go get yourself checked out. Chances are, your not pregnant but in the future, you should be more careful.
