First, your son masturbating isn't bad or wrong.....it's normal, and at 13, should probably be expected. I agree, using your underwear crosses a couple of lines he has no business exploring, but that is more easily remedied. You can get a new hamper and put it in your closet for something like that. The only problem I can see for you, is having to sit him down and explain to him the benefits of closing his door.

I could really use some advice, especially if you've had the same problem, I don't know what to do.

I'm no expert, but my son who's now 15 went through a phase like this too. Like you, I made sure to make enough noise coming in so he'd be able to stop and zip up before I walked in on him. I reassured him that his sexual feelings are a part of growing up but that stealing someone else's things is never okay. He was using his older sister's panties and he had to promise to stop touching her things. He also had to apologize to his sister. I asked him if it was simply that they were panties or that they were his sister's. He said that it didn't matter whose, so I bought a package of panties for him to play with. He has to rinse them out himself but can throw them in with the wash after they're rinsed. I know him, and he'd be mortified if any of his friends ever found out that he owned girls' panties. I'd suggest you be understanding with him but firm that you don't want him stealing anyone else's property, that sexual acts with his mother's underwear is not acceptable. Lisa, I don't think people masturbating is the core issue here. That is perfectly natural and healthy. I would question those who do not masturbate as being normal or not.... The problem I think the OP is putting forth is the line of incest fantasy. Her son is using her panties, and in essence, his own mother as sexual fantasy material. Had he closed his door? If so, he would be justified in giving a sour look.
