Multi-generation holidays are back in vogue

Postby Wendy Boast (FF Visitor) » Thu Jul 05, 2012 11:00 am

You can the read the full article at: http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/parenting/family+holidays+on+the+rise-245909.html

I'm going away with my children, husband and parents (and dog!) to the Peak District. We actually own two holiday cottages there, which we run as a self catering business, but we also use them for our own multi-generation family. It is lovely for the grandparents to spend time with their teenage grandchildren and it is great because the grandchildren 'un-plug' themselves from the computer. We all eat, walk and relax together. We get lots of multi-generation groups visiting the holiday cottages and it is probably the most popular type of booking that we get. It is lovely that families get together in this way and I am happy to be a part of it!

I'm 23 and have been holidaying with my grandparents and extended family for years. At least once a year we take get together for a week away - it's great catching up and doing activities together. This year we're heading to Greece for a week which should be tons of fun. I'll definitely carry the tradition on when I have a family of my own. :)
