IUC Hostility

I stopped posting there quite a while ago. Although some posters were a little snippy with me when I questioned the sources of some of the info, I was more bothered over the way they treated others in general who dared to question anything, and the overall lack of proof for any of the claims made on that site.

i've disagreed with Keane and explained why and she was polite in her response.

She/he also sometimes questions Ian's sources, here is one quote from a post where she/he questions the "r****" story (that plenty of people were upset over) where she flat out says she doesn't believe it: "r**** story - don’t believe it. What man in his right mind goes to a gossip blogger and freely holds his hands up to raping a minor in a car in a car park?"

also, why post about him/her here? seems kinda weird to try to discredit someone from IUC here at FF.

Because chances are you're from IUC to try damage control. They are rapidly losing posters from both weak and suspect stories, and from the hostility thrown in the face at anyone who doesn't provide an ID, fingerprints, full resume and won't bend over for a full frisking.

Because chances are you're from IUC to try damage control. They are rapidly losing posters from both weak and suspect stories, and from the hostility thrown in the face at anyone who doesn't provide an ID, fingerprints, full resume and won't bend over for a full frisking.

you logic can be used in reverse then -- chances are you could be someone who's trying to do damage to IUC.

it would be nice if the OP would post the example being referenced so we could see this alleged hostility first-hand.

I agree that r**** story was disgusting, so I've stopped going over there. As for the rest of it, I don't think it's nice to gossip about a person on another forum. I wasn't one of the in crowd and an infrequent poster but I don't feel comfortable calling out people when they aren't hear to defend themselves. Sorry.

I'm referring to the comments made to a poster called SZ over several threads accusing them of not being who they claim to be asking them to provide personal details etc. It seems this poster has now decided to stop posting there because of the behaviour of 'Keane'. I find the whole blog distasteful but the bullying tactics of some is what really gets my goat. I'm posting here because I'm interested in what other reasonable people think. If i posted it there the only response i would get is 'you're an angie plant' or a 'loon'.

I think posters there are perfectly happy so long as you blame the bad stories on -- all together now -- Jolie leaking stories for PR purposes. Not because Ian didn't do, "due diligence" or if he did, he may as well not have, since so many stories prove wrong, (does it matter why it's wrong?) Or that he's making a lot of stuff up, bc he likes salacious gross yarns -- and there's ALWAYS a source. But if you whittle it down, his batting average is no better than the average tabloid (generally zippo). At least that Daryl guy admits, for instance, that Mickeys, book outline may be complete rubbish and he offers up his stories with a bit of a nod and a wink. Add to it there's the same cruel speculative nonsense on the kids, analyzing photos to death, and it just wasn't worth it to me. And of course I realized there was no big scoop, only a pretense that these sources had more veracity then other people's, a point that was disproven time and again. However I do think Ian is a good writer and could be a very good straight-up journalist.

And yeah I do think there were some loons trying to stir it up, but that's true everywhere. The trick is not to feed the trolls, with relentless diatribes. They thrive on that but feeding them there was somehow twisted into a self-important rant by the defending posters which soonbecame the dominant topic. On THAT site, there's nowhere to escape flame wars.

If you post at IUC and agree with what's being written you'll be fine. Disagree at your peril! I've posted there before and while i haven't personally had any run ins with anyone there i have witnessed some behaviour that could be classed as bullying. This will be vehemently denied though! This thread has been posted over there by the way @OP

True. Which is uncomfortable and completely off topic. As you said, do not feed the trolls. Making posters who aren't trolls into trolls is also a problem over there. Even more uncomfortable, even mildly stressful and certainly not fun.

S.Z., Ke. and Ka. are all conversing nicely throughout the "Angie injured on set" thread as recently as yesterday, so it would appear they have worked it out. Also, SZ has not stopped posting there.

I agree. I read & posted there for a few months but the constant berating/belittling by a particular poster was too much and a few of the stories material and what the posters would imply was going on with Ange, Brad, her brother, father, Mick Jagger, and worst of all the children was absolutely inappropriate.

I had not been berated or belittled, but then I didn't post often. It seemed like one out of every two new posters was just ripped up one side & down the other. Kn is vicious and she doesn't have the self control to just ignore someone, she has to go on & on.
