Actually Angie's pressure-point way of discipline is kind and proper, and harmless, and works instantly...

Discipline should never involve violence or control like this, because if we use the same on others in the street we will be rightly locked up for it. Jolie is teaching her child that manipulation and violence solves problems, and is OK. It is not OK.

Discipline involves patience and your mouth. You talk with your child, reason with her. You tell her what the consequences could be if she carries on the way she is. You could remove her from the situation, asking her to think about why her behaviour may be upsetting to others and if that doesn't work, then you put her in her bedroom for a while, the naughty step, whatever. These are the ways to discipline a child. These are the only ways to discipline a child.

Dis-inclusion works because we all dislike being dis-included and it is what happens in real life if we use violence against another. People who raise their hands or feet to another human-being often go to jail and lose their freedom, they are dis-included.

If you use violence, you have lost the game; and ultimately; the respect of your child when she is old enough to know that what you did in the name of discipline, was wrong. Or in many cases, when they are 3 years old and know in their heart that what you do to them is wrong.

This is not a loving way to teach children what is expected behavior. JoLie and Pitt don't believe in setting any boundaries as parents. They live like that themselves and both have discussed how they don't get morality or believe in boundaries of any kind. They insist these kids are raised like that by the nannies. No boundaries and no consequences. So neither is available for "parenting" or controlling the kids. JoLie and Pit use pressure points to control the kids in public. Don't know if the nannies are given this privelege of using pressure points. I think not if the stories of the kids running the halls in hotels, etc. are to be believed.

I noticed this use of pressure point control first because all their physical connections with the kids in photos looked so darn awkward and did not resemble what one usually does as a parent or sees other parents doing when carrying or walking with children. Tiny hands weren't being held or caressed. Fingers and other very sensitive areas were being pinched and held with continuing pressure. It is horrifying to watch. These techniques are used in the martial arts, to control or disable opponents. They are not designed for controling children, but have been adopted by those lazy parent who wish to exercise control without all the fuss of actually teaching their children right and wrong behaviours. They are also used by programmers to control the programmed.

They are always weird and awkward with their kids. Very little interaction and zero bonding. The physically controlling aspect of it is beyond creepy. None of the kids appears to be a normal, happy child. They all wear expressions of being old beyond their years, sad, frightened, things you never want to see on the face of a child.
