I'm going to sound like his publicist, but it's just that I listened to him for, like 7 years, though I drifted away from his podcast a couple of years ago. He was in radio for more than ten years (before that he was a boxing instructor and construction worker, so he's got a "normal guy" perspective), and he's done some comedy and reality TV (Dancing With the Stars, a couple of his own shows). He podcasts full time now, and still does some TV stuff, I think. Sometimes people think he's a meathead, but he's clever and got a lot of common sense.

Thanks. I will definitely check him out. I like smart individuals and he seems to know what he is talking about and not just saying stuff for the sake of it like something lets say Donald Trump would do...lol

You know, the dog story was one I was convinced was made up. Huh, so one of the tabs was right for once. Blind squirrel, meet nut.

I also thought that story was BS - so I'm surprised to hear otherwise. Though I'm not crediting the tabs with any scoop on this - they were simply lucky to have gotten right after reporting it at least 3 times over the last year. It's like the baby and marriage rumors - if they do eventually get married and/or have a kid these tabs might get it right simply because they constantly post these headlines! Doesn't mean they have any real insight.

It's the ol' broken clock adage. With tabloids they can always rely on that axiom with breakup, pregnancy and marriage rumors. If not for those stories, how would they publish any editions on a weekly basis?

I am stumped by the bastardization of the past tense of "drag" as "drug." It sounds downright illiterate. Yet he likes to improperly embellish his vocabulary with "big words."

You know.. when you have a "drug" mind - it's hard to move around grammar...

I know. For someone who supposedly majored in journalism you'd think he know the difference. However it turns out it is used in some dialects in the US so perhaps it was used in Missouri and it was a hard habit for him to break.

the correct form of the word is “dragged.” “Drag” is a regular verb, which means you add “d,” “ed,” or in this case “ged” to make it past tense. “Drag” becomes “dragged.”

But it turns out that treating “drag” as an irregular verb and using “drug” as the past tense is common in some parts of America. Linguists call it dialect, which essentially means it's a language quirk shared by a group of people. Dialect can be shared by any group of people; for example, quirks can be shared by people who live in the same region, were educated by the same system, or inhabit the same social class.
Using “drug” as the past tense of “drag” is a dialect common to people who live in the southern United States, but linguists have noted that it is used frequently in states as far west as Nebraska.

It takes some getting used to. But for years I used to fall asleep listening to him (Adam) and Dr. Drew on Loveline. Good times. He's quite funny and really unpretentious. If he says she was nice or sweet, then you know she really must have been, because he's not shy about calling people out for being jerks.

I didn't know he was on Loveline. I'd never heard of him before he was on Dancing with the Stars and I found him annoying on that. I've mainly seen him on talk shows and didn't find him funny even though he was trying to be. I almost didn't listen to the clip because I find him so annoying but it actually wasn't bad, he sounded pretty normal.

I've never found him funny and I did watch Loveline because of the subject and Dr. Drew (who didn't come off as much as a sham as he does now with his Celebrity Rehab stint). He does have that gravelly voice.

I thought Carson Keely has been a lot funnier than Adam. And I hope DWTS does keep Carson on for any running skits as they do for the Dance Center bits. Or Kenny Mayne with his ultra dry humor. Even that Ross guy with the curly mop of hair is more comical than Adam even though I don't care for his humor either.

With that said, Adam seems a decent enough guy.

I thought it might be one of those regional quirks as I have heard the bastardization with other people (though not common thankfully). Still he should know better by now that drug is improper and makes him look illiterate. I know some bastardized words have evolved through the generations to become acceptable variations (as with "snuck" for "sneak" or "lighted" for "lit") but "drug" sounds too clumsy to ever be one of those cases. And the definitions are completely different to be ever interchangeable.

Good gracious all he has to do is to listen to Ed Norton who was educated in an Ivy League school right? He wouldn't ever confuse "drug" for "dragged." Or else Yale or wherever he attended needs to turn in their accreditation.

No, Adam Carolla. This was posted about 3 pages ago

Ha-Ha. He doesn't really hang out with Norton that much, just like he doesn't really hang out with Clooney much.
I wonder if they teach "drug" at the Univ of Missouri? Or maybe that was holding him back from graduating and that's why he left a few credits short. :lol:

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Feb 08, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- --George Clooney beats last year's favorite Johnny Depp;

--30% of men would rather be single than take Snooki out;

--and 40% would like to see Jennifer Aniston & Brad Pitt reunited

Taking the spot two years in a row, Jennifer Aniston is the number one female celebrity "dream date" for Valentine's Day, according to the annual Valentine's Day survey from omg! from Yahoo!, the number one celebrity news website. George Clooney edged out last year's number one male celebrity "dream date," Johnny Depp, with 19% of the votes.

Amongst gay males, Ryan Gosling is the top choice (only ranked #4 by women) and Sandra Bullock earns the spot amongst lesbian women. (Full lists below.)

Omg! from Yahoo! asked 2,001 people for their picks for the best romantic movie, which celebrity couple they'd like to see back together, which tween celebrities they would want to date their child, and other Valentine's Day-themed questions.

Nightmare Dates

Unfortunately for Snooki, 30% of men would rather be single than take her out on Valentine's Day, giving her this unwanted #1 spot for the second year. With 31% of the votes, Charlie Sheen was ranked the top nightmare date by women followed by Mike "The Situation" (25%).
