Whether you like Cox or not, she and Jennifer were and are friends. There have been plenty of sightings of the two of them together over the last several months/weeks and Jennifer is the godmother to Cox's daughter. There were no more "leaks" of information about Jennifer years ago then there are now. The "info" that's out there either comes straight from her (in interviews) or is invented (as it always was) by tabloids.
And this idea that someone in the industry who works as a talk show host (i.e. Ellen and now Cooper) can only like or ask about or be friends with either Jennifer OR Pitt/Jolie is beyond juvenile. We're talking about grown professional adults working in an industry where they cannot afford to hold grudges against A-listers based on the personal relationships of said A-listers (that don't and didn't involve the hosts), and something that happened 7+ years ago. Anderson Cooper may very well be friendly with Jolie - I have no idea, other than I know he had her on his show. Even assuming he's best pals with Jolie, I seriously doubt that he would turn down the opportunity to have Jennifer on that same show if given the chance - he's a professional and is concerned about ratings more than anything else. For all we know he's met and hung out with Jennifer more on a personal basis than Jolie - or he's never spent any personal time with either of them!
That said, Jennifer came up naturally (and briefly) as part of his discussion with Cox about Friends and whether she is still in touch with the cast - he asked her about Jennifer being Coco's godmother. Cox then referred to Jennifer when he later asked about the side of fame that sees false tabloid stories being printed about you constantly. Cox said she's made peace with it but she still finds it funny and odd and used an example of walking through an airport and seeing a tabloid going on about "Jennifer's twins" as if it was real. She then said, "I mean she is not having twins! But she did just get a new puppy."
Anyways thanks MaryT. There could be many reasons why she didn't reply. A) the couple themselves have made their relationship as private as can be and she didn't want to provide any intimate information where they are concern. B) it might be true C) it is easier to say I don't want to comment on print than on tv(AC). I am not sure if the MTV interview was print or not though.

Lola - could be many reasons she answered as she did. You refer to MTV interview, but the interview I quoted above is from the UK's Telegraph and was print. However, as I just elaborated, it was Cox herself who brought up the "Jennifer pregnant with twins" rumors when on Cooper (he never asked her to dispel those or any rumors about Jennifer). Still, I'm not reading anything too much into this, I just thought it was somewhat interesting - it could just as easily mean nothing at all!
And it's quite easy to see that The Telegraph, like every other media outlet that gets to speak to one of their friends while out promoting something, brought Jennifer and Justin up because the media is dying to find out some info on the two of them. Jeez - the press is so dying for news that they jump to keep running engagement stories every so months based on Jennifer wearing the same ring she's worn since June!
