actors of INLOBAH- are they allowed to speak to the press

Postby guest77777 » Mon Feb 20, 2012 4:04 pm

Are they? Without Ho? Allowed to promote this sh8tfest without her? I think they are under the legal contract not to say anything they would like.

good point. In light of Jolie's control freakishness, it wouldn't surprise me.

Good question. There does seem to be a rule that says that they are not allowed to speak without Jolie there. She has been present in many of their interviews and I can't recall that many interviews they've done on their own. The only one I can think of was by that Rade S..... guy. And that was before the movie opened.

Mainly, I wanted to say that this thing is beyond bizzare. How many times has anyone seen a director promoting a film with her husband or his wife versus the leading actress/ actor?
I guess only in Holieville. I'm certain these actors are unders strict contract that also stipulates what they can wear to premieres and how they look in general so they don't steal the show from Ho.

And in every picture you see of the actors they look so solemn and miserable. Like they are under house arrest and ordered to appear.

I haven't seen them speak without her being around. Which is very odd & ridiculous, because what other film do you see that occur other than a documentary?

Honestly, this is where I think her massive ego got in the way. If this is "their" story (her words...because they lived through it, she just wrote about it), I think she would have been better off putting the actors front & center. I think the actors would have had more compelling things to say about the war and the film in relation to it and might have gotten more people to the theater. People like a human connection. Yes, most people go to the movies to escape or for entertainment, but there are the "tough" stories that people do flock to see because something about it makes them relate, sympathize, want to learn more, etc. You can make an educational story accessible & relatable, but it's all about the approach. And I think Angelina failed miserably at how she approached the marketing of this film. There is a disconnection because the only person you see front & center is a rich American who has spent very little time in that region and admits she didn't even know there was a war going on at the time. Angelina could have used her name recognition & power to get her actors face time; she did not need to be the one doing most of the talking, defending and lecturing. She's under the impression that people will see it because she's viewed as worldly & knowledgeable, but that's not reality. If this was true, her movie wouldn't be just over $300,000 right now. Unfortunately she has just wasted the most valuable press time she had, and I doubt she will walk away learning anything from this experience. After all, it's only $15+ million dollars.

I've stated before and I will state it once again...Jolie doesn't give two figs about these people and what they went through, nor will she EVER step foot in that region again, after she has used them for her own glorification. You will never hear her mention this region again. She will never go back on a humanitarian jaunt. She will use them for her own selfish purposes and toss them aside, just like Cambodia (where I still have never EVER seen pictures of such a clinic or school named after Maddox), just like Vietnam, just like Ethiopia that she states that they have been building a aids clinic there in honor for Zahara and setting up a foundation in her name, for 7 damn years...and yet they are still "building" it?? Whatthefuckever. Just like the Jolie-Pitt foundation, or the Maddox Jolie-Pitt foundation is only used for them using it a means for tax exempt status, to hide their money from the IRS.

I've read on here that the actors were not paid. What a rip-off this movie must feel to them. They don't get money or publicity for themselves! I'm sure they are feeling very used at this point. Jolie has not once given the actors the spotlight. She uses them as props the same way she uses that gaggle of kids.
Angelina Jolie Voight is unrestrained, inclined to antisocial psychopathy.

Very well said and I totally agree! It's a shame she doesn't care, because:
1. Very few people have ability to get media attention like she does and she could have put it to good use for a change.
2. The subject matter is one that should be discussed and the masses should get an opportunity to sincerely learn more about it.
3. There is always something to learn from history, as it does very often repeat itself.

Dry facts in a book usually don't appeal to the masses - it's the human stories that do, and film can be a great way to showcase that. Unfortunately Hollywood never knows enough about the historical subject matter to realize how interesting the truth is and instead showcases a bunch of fiction that they deem more entertaining instead. In Angelina's case it was pure fiction & motivated entirely by her own selfish needs until she got around to shooting, at which time the cast directed her to make enough changes to where you could see a small glimpse of reality and she could call it her "artistic interpretation and not a documentary" of war. How she has used an entire region for her own gain is beyond disgusting. The whole thing angers me more than I will go into here! But you are exactly right. She will never, ever visit that region again unless it will benefit her in some way. Otherwise she could care less; it's on to the next small country that she can use & exploit.

Not only are the cast allowed and encouraged to speak their OWN opinions, they have also had the ear of President Obama, by means of Her Royal Highness of Hollywood, Angelina Jolie, now THAT is fuccking POWER, with a capital P.

Obama meets with anyone as long as they're famous, loon. Who the f*ck do you think you're fooling? And Jolie was there for that meeting aswell, so obivously they were limited in what they could talk about.

As for the cast allowed and encouraged to speak their own opinions - care to prove that? Where's the links to all those interviews of the cast talking about the film WITHOUT Jolie present? I mean, shouldn't be that hard for you to find since they are "encouraged" to do so, right?

And, loon, Hollywood is about MONEY. Someone who fails to bring in MONEY is not even close to being "royalty" of Hollywood.

Jolie has no substance, no depth. To her, reality is image, what is fed to others and what others say. It is all about putting on a show. Aggravating the situation is her control freek tendencies, and she has operated that way from the beginning. Not interested in producing substantive material, she stole the story then sends out her loon brigade to trash the author when he dares fight back (her usual MO). Then because she wanted to be shaaawking and edgy, she modified the story to include vapid sexual violence, twisted inhuman psychology, and shallow propaganda. She instructs her cast to wear black, look solemn, and don't speak unless spoken to. She puts out histrionic lines in interviews on every subject she thinks is haaaawt. No depth, just surface with that bimbo, and controlling the process every step of the way. Result: Unmitigated disaster.
