This story could not have been told without Angelina. This film is and will always be about angelina. The fact that she took time from her busy life and financed this piece of art and is now promoting it in Europe and making sure that it is seen by being at premiers. The fact that she financed this film with her own money speaks volumns. Without her, no one would know what happened to Bosnian women during the war. The women are happy to have the truth out about what happened to them.

Where the f*ck are you and those you know from that it took angelina jolie telling you what happened through her "art" for you to know about the Bosnian war? This is just getting pathetic.

Was the Bosnian war discussed much at all, before Jolie got involved with making this movie? No! If war was the subject, it's Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and all the fighting areas in the Middle East, etc. Not Bosnia, a war that happened in the 90s.

Jolie most certainly put it back on the map. Now it's discussed again. It's possible that there are people who knew very little or nothing about that war and are now interested because of Jolie's ITLOBAH.
I understand there have been other movies made about that war, showing the Serbs as the bad guys, but I've never heard or seen any discussion about those movies, probably because no big name was associated with them. Now that Jolie is involved, it's different, isn't it! Even the haters from FF can't stop talking about it.

Why is it pathetic? If you're not interested, nobody is forcing you to talk about it.

Obama meets with anyone as long as they're famous, loon. Who the f*ck do you think you're fooling? And Jolie was there for that meeting aswell, so obivously they were limited in what they could talk about.

As for the cast allowed and encouraged to speak their own opinions - care to prove that? Where's the links to all those interviews of the cast talking about the film WITHOUT Jolie present? I mean, shouldn't be that hard for you to find since they are "encouraged" to do so, right?

And, loon, Hollywood is about MONEY. Someone who fails to bring in MONEY is not even close to being "royalty" of Hollywood.

So I'm guessing ANUSton and the Balding Oompa Loompa will NEVER get the priviledge of meeting with President Obama.

You would be guessing wrong dumbass since Jennifer Aniston helped campaign for Obama. Just because people don't call the media to advertise they are meeting with the president doesn't mean they don't or have not meet him.

Posters are different. Die-hard, irrational haters are only interested in slamming Jolie and Pitt personally. I notice they have no/not much interest in anything else.

Jolie and ITLOBAH have definitely attracted more attention that the other movies about this war. Not every movie needs to be an Avatar or Titanic. I haven't seen the first, and don't plan to, and saw a bit of the second and didn't like it.

Really? What was the movie "Behind Enemy Lines" about? The Bosnian War you shitt for brains. You know the movie starring Owen Wilson and Gene Hackman? It's so funny how you loons claim people were unaware of the war until Jolie shined a spotlight on it again. What you meant to say was you dumbass loons didn't know about it until the mediawho.re made a movie about it. Please do not link the rest of us to your failure of understand world issues.

Thank you! I have never heard of these movies. "The Whistleblower" sounds familiar, but I didn't know it was about the war in the Balkans. A movie really has to be actively advertised and promoted, and if a big and popular name is associated with it, that's even better.

I wouldn't worry about the ignorant haters, who hang around here only, and ramble nonsense.

What royal ear - he dissed her - she went begging to meet him. As i remember her holiness did not think much of politics in March 2010, when she did not see her self visiting the white house - she made some really snickery comments - AND THEN ALL of a sudden when her floppy movie was not making it - SHE DECIDED THAT it was time to talk humanitarium issues - so all of sudden her interest peeked in humantarium issues - darn give OBAMA Credit - even he could see through that

Do I get this right? Jolie didn't pay the actors, they only received provisional contracts, and paid herself a salary of 2.5 million $.

The actors were paid. Jolie put up her own money for the film. Don't try to make a story where none exists.

No one knows this for sure. The claim she paid for the film came from Jolie - definitely not a reliable source. Tim H. or GK may have funded it. Are these actors being paid for all the time they have had to spend flogging this flop? They should have been.

The Whistle Blower stars Rachel Weisz and is based on a true story. I would highly recommend it. Be prepared to get very upset with a corrupt UN bureaucracy and its forces. Now this movie really deserved the humanitarian awards Jolie's ITLOBAH got.

I like Mrs Craig, so I put "The Whistleblower" on my 'list of movies, old and new that I want to see.'

About the UN, I have no doubt that it has many deficiences, but the UN is the only organization to which all countries in the world belong. It's worth fixing! Many of its agencies do very good work, but of course we don't hear about all that. We only hear the bad stories. The UN could and should be good. For starters, imo, they should cancel the veto power in the UNSC!

The Croatian media in that clip posted on another thread were asking the same question - are the actors of ITLOBAH not allowed to speak to reporters on their own? The reporters even said it to one of the actors "Arent you allowed to speak to us?"

Rade Serbedzija is quite well known and he knows how to handle the media, so he has more free rein... he also knows how to say exactly what is expected of him, given that he is promoting this movie and needs to make sure it succeeds.

And remember, most of these actors in ITLOBAH didnt see any or much of the war. So when Angelina Jolie said that they did, she was LYING, but thats not unusual for her.

They were paid but I'm certain it was not enough. They filmed ITLOBAH twice; once in English and again to qualify it as a foreign language film. Plus the actors revised the script as they went along given it authenticity and continuity. It seems the crew wore many hats trying to make this a success.
