Right, because most 50 year old women who write Clifford the Big Red Dog books and for TV shows like Wow Wow Wubzy like to come home and unwind reading obscure japanese splatter mangas.

Then Battle Royal is a direct rip off of Running Man, The Long Walk and Lord of the Flies.

She wrote fantasy novels about an under world and dragons for children. She was heavily into Greek mythology.. it not hard to see the Greek influence in her work and that is how she got her idea.
