Oh, wikipedia! Why didn't you say so? That's a valid source.
I've been asking the same question for several posts now and you keep dancing around it. I posted the link that loons gave to "prove EW's Cinemanscore showed that 60% of "Wanted" audiences came to see Angelina Jolie". That link proved nothing except that such a poll exists. Your wikipedia quote above does the same thing. What the previous guest was asking, and what I am asking is for proof that your claim that 60% of the "wanted" audience came to see Angelina Jolie. You loons could not provide the link in 2008, and you cannot provide it now. Therefore, it is best that you stop making this claim because you cannnot source it.

Hopefully that is clear enough for you.

actually i gave the link to the hollywood reporter which explains the importance of the cinemascore then I remembered that im dealing with a dsylexic FFer who keeps saying cinemascope so I used wikipedia so maybe it can comprehend better..here is the THR link
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/w ... ice-225563
also look up pop industry sites they always quote the cinemascore when giving BO results

Did you not understand my question bolded and highlighted above? I am asking for the source to your claim that over 60 percent of "wanted" moviegoers saw the movie because of Jolie. You still aren't answering that because you can't. You couldn't do it in 2008, and you can't do it now.

Interestingly enough, I tried to google the exact phrase used by loons here in 2008 to see if I could pull up the source document, but my search engine shut down completely. When I clicked on the "why," it stated that continuing the search could compromise my privacy and security. Odd, isn't it? I mean, that is really odd, right? I'm not accusing you or anyone else of malfeasance, just to be clear. I've just never encountered that before on my search engine.

Angelina Jolie’s New Film “Wanted” a Box Office Success
June 29, 2008

Angelina Jolie is apparently a knockout in terms of being a box office draw, so much so that the weekend numbers her brand new flick “Wanted” produced has many industry insiders pleasantly surprised.. “Wanted”, Universal Pictures production starring Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy, debuted to $19.1M Friday and $17.5M Saturday from 3,175 venues for a $51.1M weekend.

It marks a new franchise for the studio which expected only $35+M from this stylish summer actioner fueled by the Matrix-like high octane provided by hot Russian director Timur Bekmambetov.

Some other breakthroughs this film has accounted for are listed below:
■Wanted was the biggest opening of a live action film in Jolie’s career
■It turned out to be the best June opening ever for an R-rated movie, beating Knocked Up’s $30.6M, and the 6th highest R-rated opening of all time
■The studio expected only a $35+M opening, so the film did much better than anticipated
■Angie proved she is a big draw: Cinemascore said the main reasons given for choosing to see Wanted were the action (67%) and Jolie (61%).

I personally have not seen the movie yet, however I have always though Jolie was an incredibly gifted actress, who always did a good job regardless of the role she was playing. And from the looks of these numbers, it seems like a lot of people think of her in the same light I do.

http://hyerstandard.com/2008/06/29/ange ... e-success/

Sorry, but that is still not the source. This site is merely repeating secondhand information without a link to the source data. The source data would be at EW, likely, but no one has ever been able to locate it, to the best of my knowledge. I distinctly remember this conversation occurring at the time the movie came out because -- like so many other Jolie "facts" -- it was something being widely repeated that could never be proved.

I do appreciate the effort, though. Most posters wouldn't be as tenacious as you at trying to find the original data source.

Fact SALT made 293 mil and was marketed with Angelina's name alone, FACT Wanted made 341mil and had Angelina as the image on posters and 60% of the audience said they watched the movie because of Angelina(Source: Cinemascore), FACT the Tourist made 275mil WW..FACT go read the comments from 2006 when Angelina got pregnant, a majority of them were NEGATIVE, yet ppl STILL went to see her movies.i see no opinions just facts...and to the above poster ITLOBH was released in 18 theaters and was foreign and Angelina Jolie wasnt in the movie, it may not have been a financial success but it got her some awards something first time directors rarely ever get...also just because ITLOBH wsnt released to the public it doeant mean voters didnt see the movie, there were screenings going on for months, also in case you didnt know in general GG and SAG nominated movies still receive nominations despite not being released to the public

the Pitt movie thing I agree is an opinion but as far as putting another actress in SALT.. the reason I keep bringing Colombiana up is because the movie is basically a SALT part 2, its an original action movie and very similar to SALT..the movie flopped and its not necessatliy because it was a bad movie(ive seen movie with worse RT scores do better) its because Zoe cannot carry a movie with her name alone.. Angelina has fans that will see her in an action movie Zoe does not, thats why it flopped..ITLOBH was released in 18 theaters and was foreign I personally never expected it to do well and was not shocked when it didnt becuase its a graphic foreiign movie that would not be attractive to the American public..heck even Madonna who has a very Huge Fanbase, her movie didnt do that well either(less than 1 mil) AND it was in English and had known actors ..,anyways the point is I know FF will NEVER admit it but ppl StiLL WENT to see Angelinas movie despite being accused of being the other women(and receiving harsh criticism) so I doubt the comments she is receiving now will effect how Maleficient does or any upcoming movie..and to th above idiot it calld CINEMASCORE..GOOGLE IT

Jolie and brad's movies are always about.....PROMOTION, PROMOTIONS, MOTHER OF ALL PROMOTIONS, Johnny Depp and other established, loved and talented actors that have to take back-stage in order for brandgelina to shine. No other movie actors/actresses are marketed to the hilt like jolie and brad. They even PRESENTED and advertised their movies on billboards in fcvkin' CANNES!!! Even with all that EXTRA MARKETING and $$$$ spent worldwide, they still can't break even that they have to resorts to fudging numbers. Plus in order to maxi-max box office numbers, their movies are opened in EVERY CORNERS OF THE WORLD even up to little villages in Africa, middle East, Europe and India.

Plus, I wouldn't even compare Columbiana with Salt because Zoe Zaldana is Black and when has a Black woman headlined a movie and blazed? Not because they are not good actors (in fact, I believe they're very good, the best) but because they are not well received. Or when has any other actress for that matter, hyped by the media like jolie......hmmm? Zoe is not A- lister nor is she touted as queen of HW/super star/ Oscar winner and neither is she brad pitt's concubine, a mediaho or an actress with years of experience and connections of brandgelina's caliber. Jolie having more fans or not have nothing to do with it, it's all about media, PR and how the movie and the star is marketed and hyped. We can all agree that jolie uses every ars3nal in her power....her kids, brad, grandparents and personal life....anyone? Zoe used none of that. It's Apple and Orange. She or the movie was not promoted like jolie and salt was. For a budget of $40mil, she did a pretty good job without all that hoopla, even better than jolie with her huge budget and promotions.

If other actors/actresses are given the same level of promotions and budget that studios wastes on brandgelina, I'm sure HW, sony and plan B wouldn't be losing money like they're doing. Wonder why the so called HW royalty  :laff: are racing to align themselves with the REAL TALENTED STARS and looking for parts in their movies now. Could it be because no one is buying the hype anymore? Hype like jolie carried a movie by herself....really? Jolie can't carry any movie by herself, she'll have to be the only one in the movie and since there are other people in Salt, Wanted and Tourist like Liev, JD etc, it's safe to say jolie was a small part of a casts, she and her stunt and body double.

Also, brandgelina's movie success is an illusion. When marketing and production costs almost equates total revenue of their movies, then they are not making hit movies but duds. All their movies after Mr & Mrs are box office duds, they never break even because their movies are marketed to the hilt and production costs are ALWAYS high. That's bad business. The only reason they are still being offered work or nominated has nothing to do with their box office numbers, talents or appeal but rather due to many other factors such as....

1. brads production company. He can always insert himself or holie into a project or part finance it/produce.
2. they can still bring in investors who are looking to invest in movies to invest in their ventures, such as their new criminal political millionaire friends from Middle East, Africa and Europe. And lets not forget CFR,UN and SEE-EYE-AY millionaires (they take care of their own)
3. they are tabloid king and queen and reality stars
4. they are UN, CFR, Ellumeenati and SEE-EYE-AY puppets. They will make sure they are offered parts or even fund their movies themselves if need be. brandgelina are valuable to them, they need them in the spotlight.
5. lastly, they are media zen masters. They use media to create grand illusions of them and sell the fakery to the sheeple, the public by battering us on the heads with their hype and shoving their lies down our throats. Brandgelina are all about PR, selling themselves.

These honey, are FACTS!

Still not the source -- in fact, if Nikki Finke is the one saying this, then it is almost certainly a lie. This source document also states that the STUDIO (not cinemascore) is making these claims. In fact, Nikki Finke is really the only one making these claims, and she's a longtime loon.

JuJuBee- this is why I bore you and other posters with my insistence on obtaining source data. Nearly everything said and printed about angelina voight is based on lies. This discussion started with the claim that a legitimate entertainment polling source had made an unbelievably favorable claim about Miss Voight. When questioned about the source data, the poster provided links, instead, to the credibility of the data source they were citing. When pressed further, they provided a second-hand claim, again without the source data. When finally pressed to provide the original data, the poster provides information proving that it was never cinemascore's poll at all, but rather a well-known loon blogger who made this claim.

So, for nearly four years now, Angie Voight's camp has perpetrated the lie that over 60 percent of "Wanted's" very successful opening was due to Voight being in the film. It has actually become part of the public domain now -- like the fact that she allegedly gave 1/3 of her earnings to charity. However, if we keep pressing, we eventually get to the truth of the matter. In this case, it turns out to be yet another paid-off hack lying about Voight's popularity.

People always wonder why Voight gets away with the studios and TPTB not calling her out on her true box office, always putting the best possible spin on her projects, when anyone can see that the numbers are being whitewashed. This is exactly why. Because she and her cohorts lie, distort, and manipulate the truth until -- by the time the real truth comes out -- the lie (Wanted was so successful because of Voight) has already stolen the narrative.

i guess Angelina paid Cinemascore off to quote those numbers(in case you need a lesson Cinemasore aks ppl why they chose the movie)..Angelina must have also paid off all the people who went to see SALT because for some reason even though the movie was carried by her name alone ppl still went to see it..

Filmgoers Wild For ‘Wall-E’ And ‘Wanted’: Angelina Jolie Posts Best Opening Ever; Lonely Droid Debut Is Pixar’s 3rd Biggest

...

So Wanted, Universal’s Angelina Jolie/James McAvoy starrer, debuted to $19.1M Friday and $17.5M Saturday from 3,175 venues for a $51.1M weekend. It marks a new franchise for the studio which expected only $35+M from this stylish summer actioner fueled by the Matrix-like high octane provided by hot Russian director Timur Bekmambetov. It turned out to be the best June opening ever for an R-rated movie, beating Knocked Up‘s $30.6M, and the 6th highest R-rated opening of all time (behind The Matrix Reloaded, The Passion Of The Christ, 300, Hannibal, and Sex And The City) as well as the 3rd biggest R-rated action film (behind The Matrix Reloaded‘s $91.7M, and 300‘s $70.9M). It’s also the biggest opening ever for a live-action Angelina movie and she proved a big draw: the studio said the main reasons given for choosing to see Wanted were the action (67%) and Jolie (61%). Exit polling showed the audience breakdown was 52%/48% male to female, 51%/49% under age 30 to over age 30.

 Bravo..I was looking for this article because I specifically remembered reading about how Angie was a big draw to the film.thanks..now the FFers will say that Nikki lied about the Cinemascore..in 1,2,3,.e...

The differently-abled backward countdown loon strikes again. This is too funny.

Exactly. This is gone from a credible poll to Nikki Finke's opinion. Good Lord.

Nikki's opinion? Nikki is giving the CINEMASCORE results like she does for EVERY FILM, every weekend she gives a report on the Cinemasore so why would this be any different?

No, loon. CinemaScore is not cited here. In fact, it explicitly states that the "Studio" is Nikki's source. (oddly, in the 2008 version originally posted here, Nikki did cite CinemaScope -- someone (likely EW's Legal) actually made her go in and correct her lie on her website). In other words, she made this up out of thin air. CinemaScore did not poll this, and, if it did, the results were not favorable to Miss Voight, or you can bet Finke would be citing the hell out of them.

Sigh. Read it again, loon. CinemaScope had nothing to do with the numbers Finke is citing.
