OT: Saving Private Ryan

I knew about this movie for the longest time but I have never seen it before (despite its 5 Oscar Wins) mainly because I heard it was really brutal and I tend to have a very weak stomach when it comes to violence (I hate horror movies for this reason. Too much blood). Any way I go on youtube randomly today and watched the first 20 mins--Omaha Beach--and I swear I couldnt go any further. Needless to say, I am VERY distraught about the intensity and I hate the fact that I just watched something so disturbing right before bed..UGH.

Anyway, Sorry for the OT but I just wanted to discuss something other than the brand

What did you guys think about this movie? I still have to tolerate all the killings and finish it , I'm like 1/4 of the way in. Lord help my soul

Does anyone have any good movies to recommend? It will be greatly appreciated.

Have you seen The Artist? Though the lead male goes through a downturn in his career and life, it's one of those happily-ever-after endings. Plus, that dog really is adorable. I would definitely recommend that for a feel-good film.

I don't like a lot of films and have been unimpressed with the big-event films. But I did see Source Code and actually enjoyed it. I like those kind of film genres.

Have you delved in the classic B&W films from Billy Wilder? The dialogue is usually sharp and witty.
