The week's top watched video-on-demand (VOD) films were announced Monday by Rentrak, based on data collected the week of June 18-24, with Project X claiming the No. 1 position and knocking Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows to third place.
The teen comedy Project X follows three kids who throw a party and watch things spin out of control. As word spreads, the trio get more than they bargained for.
Also newly released to VOD on June 19 and entering the list are Wanderlust starring Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd, A Thousand Words starring Eddie Murphy and Big Miracle with Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski in a tale about saving whales.
The other five films held over include action adventure Safe House starring Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds, about a rogue CIA operative, Act of Valor, the story of a Navy Seal covert mission, the fantasy sequel Journey 2 starring Dwayne Johnson and Josh Hutcherson, Ghost Rider 2, and John Carter, based on the Edgar Rice Burroughs time travel story on Mars and starring Taylor Kitsch.
According to Rentrak's OnDemand Essentials, the top ten most-viewed VOD films are:

Coming soon are Mirror Mirror with Julia Roberts, 21 Jump Street with Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill and the 3D epic Wrath of the Titans.
On Amazon's Instant Video ranking for television shows, the action dramas predominate the list, including the sci-fi drama Falling Skies starring Noah Wyle (E.R.), Burn Notice, Suits, and The Glades.
