So, I wander in to my usual forum and amongst all the alien theories and stories, otherworldly creatures amusingly photoshopped into mundane earthling activities, vigorous discussions about the imminent annual n00b intake and dodgy UFO sighting reports I pop in the question "where can I get (preferably free) big pebbles"...
I know I can buy them on-line and lurk about endlessly on one of the "recycling" sites but I'm all for the more tightwad & quicker approach.

Anyway, thirty nine odd replies of "the beach" later I see it's time to trawl the extended network of mates and internet peeps for some up close & personal proper bartering action.

Here's a brill thread on a more public forum (Amazon) that has had me chuckling for quite a while, mind that's nothing unusual for me but this is worth a chortle...
Sci-Fi post.

Ahh, the art of daft is alive and well all over the interwebs, how ace is that... Image

A super day... a wander down to ye olde London town and lurked about a bit.

Met up with one of the ever increasing crowd of interweb people I know. Female this time so no need to impress the fact that mates are not interested in getting actually on down & jiggy especially ones that are chapped up already (honestly a few are still a bit dim like that :o )... so all is good.
Museum, walk, bit of grub & a natter then wander back home. The weather was ace and it was a laugh.
:sunny:

I have a germ I think, bit of a sore throat and sniffy nose this evening... there's some ck r at work that has hordes of anklebiters at home and he's always coughing and spluttering over everything.
He really should wear a bio-hazard suit at all times. Image

Still no further with pebbles, maybe I will have to get a handy friend with van & raid a beach somewhere.
I'm sure it's not illegal or nuffink...

Meh... heard via the grapevine that some proggy TV was on so the covert Wii display unit was wheeled out and attached to the world... hurrah, hours of prog chat & tunes.

The first hour passes, many a reasonable mellotron warble is played to the eager crowd of Molly the dog, Baron von Wonka, an unfeasibly large bag of very spicy tortilla crisps, cider, a few choccy samples (nom nom) and me...

One brief mention of Hammill... :?

On to the next program, ninety mins of prog rock "documentary"... more cider, the dog finishes her newest chew toy and falls asleep on my feet and the rest of the crowd is getting restless.

One brief sighting of a Charisma record. 8)

But... loads of bollox about Yes, Genesis, Jethro Tull and Crimson and a bit of Caravan and F*** all else. It was more a program about "popular" prog, and not a snippet of VdGG. Even when punk arrived no mention of Rikki Nadir. S*** telly. :x :hand:

I bugger off & hide in the bath to whinge on the net and try out some tropical hibiscus & lemongrass bubble bath (verdict, not bad I suppose) plus lurk here too.

Which brings me to right now.
I occasionally wonder what people are doing when they're posting stuff... myself I am usually in between doing things at work or on the loo or making digi pics or distracted by e-mail notifications when writing to customers and peeps, I'm never just doing one thing.
A device or other may be on and signed into various places and if I pass by it I'll have a peek.

So, I am about to depart the bath then play hide & seek under the duvet... it's all good.

I may be relaxing by a fireplace or swimming pool, viewing a DVD, or listening to Internet radio. I am not likely to go with the flow on the loo because I do not use Google TISP.

Is there anything not found on Google... I for instance have been regaling a captive audience with amusing tales of plants, pebbles and other interesting stuff via the wonders of webcams & hangouts.
Luckily I was not in the bath at the time though.

Ahh, as I'm bored with typing and interweb things for today now I can't be arsed writing it all out here. Suffice to say there was food, travel and not a little adventure over the weekend. 8)

I did however find an absolute gem of a customer review on the Amazon site earlier (well I have been buying a lot of things for epic garden makeover mission lately). This made me chortle immensely and if not for the rules of my own forum (what ginger muppet wrote those  ) I would collar this person for apprenticeship into the hallowed halls of the A/S for this is what we do.
Alas one post is not enough & there seems to be little history on this user anyway but it deserves a linky.

Sandbags :grinning:

And why was I looking at sandbags... well, that's a long story... :benny:

I saw a bit of that. I remember Wishbone Ash and we used to do a cover of one of their tunes.
I saw them live at Newcastle City Hall and they were supported by a band called Fat Grapple. My bass used to belong to FG's bassist.

I've just had a rootle round as I was sure I went to see them when I was a teen but I couldn't find it for the dates I thought it was. It was the Aylesbury Civic or Friars venue but on looking back through it must have been some other group I saw (1984-ish) as it was much later in Jan 1990 I saw W/A. I don't remember much about that gig tbh... I do remember who I was there with though. :?

Fat Grapple... a fine name for a group. :rotflmao:

My bum is not something I have to look at thankfully, I've done a lot of walking since last year when I got the dog so all I know is it's quite fit now.

Is that your face in your avi then??

:booty:

This coming from the chap that only this morning posted a long tale of how handkerchiefs were made of willow leaves which is why the trees are "weeping" and then proceeded to try and convince another member that oranges are in fact the only fruit followed by a poll about "How many slices of cheese were in my sandwiches?"... when in fact the answer turned out to be corned beef & lettuce... well I never.
