Having worn uniform for school from age 5-18 and then at work ever since I guess I've got used to the idea and it does save a lot of hassle of having to decide what to wear each day.

I currently work in a building society and am wearing;
navy blue jacket (well actually it's on the back of my chair)
patterned long sleeve blouse
blue straight skirt
black slip
black <A HREF='http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/catalog/default.php/cPath/23_52' target='_blank'>tights</A>
black 4" heels (although they're actually kicked off somewhere under the desk...)

I have my black boots for walking home in - too snowy for heels! :D

No uniform here. today its black top and thick jumper, grey fitted suit trousers with tights underneath, socks to keep my feet warm and black boots coz I don't have trainers. My boots do have heels tho and it is way too snowy, I have slipped over twice already today coz the soles have no tread

Hmm, not so sure about how great they look. They were freezing this morning - are you any good at warming up feet?

Yeh I am good at warming them up, and would gladly like to help. Are they cold again today, and are you wearing <A HREF='http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/catalog/default.php/cPath/23_52' target='_blank'>tights</A> again. Shout up if I can be of assistance

Yup, cold feet again today but not quite so soggy. They're still chilly so I've just put a pair of thick socks on over my tights - sexy!!!

Sorry, don't know them either....

I do tend to have a very sheltered existence in my own little office. Think I'll have to get the staff list and see who's who, and get out and about a bit more.

Do you know any girls there about my age (24)?

You are right, guys do wear skirts, but far too many of them wear them in private or at costume parties or other events where they think it will be accepted. Just as women do, guys can wear anything they choose to; but most men are too chickenshit to be themselves. Instead, while claiming to be big, brave and strong, they follow like sheep to the tune of whatever song they are played.

Skirts for men will only catch on when men become as brave, strong, determined, and self confident as women are. Women are not afraid to speak and act on whatever is on their minds. One of the many side effects of that is women can wear whatever they choose. Men basically are cowards who lack self confidence, and only gain their confidence and strength by what other men and women tell them and dictate to them. One of the many side effects is that regardless of what a man truly wants to wear and would be comfortable wearing, he wears what he is told to wear because he is afraid of other people and what they might say or do. Men like to claim they are the stronger and braver sex, but in reality they are weaklings and followers who do exactly what is expected of them. While that may not have been the case in days of old, clearly today women are the stronger, braver, bolder, and more confident sex, and are enjoying the benefits.

There is nothing more comfortable than wearing a skirt or dress on a hot day or evening or to an event where the air gets hot and stuffy because of a lot of people for the space provided.

Men, be as brave, bold, and self confident as women; forget about what you think other people expect and demand; be your own person, and make yourself happy and comfortable; start wearing whatever you believe you will be comfortable in now, and stop waiting for some one else to start the trend so you can wear it without fear. Gain the power and freedom of women.

Of course skirt and dress wearing does not come by itself. Hairly legs look horrible in a skirt, dress, shorts, or any other style exposing one's legs. So men, if you are going to become man enough to start wearing skirts, don't forget to shave your legs. When is the last time you saw a woman in a skirt or dress with hairly legs? And guys, not all women like to shave our legs. Chose whatever style you are comfortable with, but whatever you choose, wear it with class and style (do not cheapen it).

Hi misslucy,

Is your slip full length?
I did'nt think girls your age wore a slip?
I'm 36 and wear a slip at work under my suit to keep warm this weather .Although with a lined skirt you don't really need one.
You'r obviously a sensible girl.

No, it's a half slip. I wear it to stop the lining sticking to my tights.
Why can't girls my age wear a slip? There must be others....

Judging by the posts on "Ladies-show your slip" there are some, Clapper,sarahjane113,Karen,buffyfan to name a few.
All I meant was that wearing a slip is not as popular as it was when I was around your age (mid 1990's) due to :
Fashion, availabilty (try finding a lace trimmed slip in the shops)popularity of girls wearing trousers, ladette culture,anti-feminists, equality, practicality of wearing trousers in jobs such as Police, Nursing, Shop assistants (hardly any wear a skirt/dress as uniform now) lined skirts (although some do stick to your tights as you say) and so on.
