I am having a day off today – there was no hot water this morning and I’m waiting for someone to come and fix it.

And it wasn’t much fun having a shower this morning – no hot water and it was only 7°c outside. I was going to wash my hair this morning, but not if there’s only cold water – I can see I’m going to have a bad hair day today……

Oh yes, the problem with the hot water system turned out to be ants! The heater is outside and, with all the wet weather we've been having lately, they decided to move into the base of the heater, as it is dry and warm. Some of the ants around the thermostat got squashed (the thermostat partially rotates every time the heat goes on or off) and jammed the thermostat in the off position. Service call, parts and labour came to $180.
