Teeth whitening

Postby princessm » Tue Mar 01, 2005 3:16 pm

I am a smoker and coffee drinker but I am not liking the look of my teeth lately, they are majorly stained and whitening tooth paste isn't doing much... and I've been using whitening tooth paste for a month or so...
has any one had success using colgate simply gel? or crest white strips?

This is spooky as I was about to post a question about teeth whitening myself. Working in an office I drink a lot of coffee and have been using something called Beverley Hills Formula, which promises whiter than white teeth. It was on sale at Sainsburys and was pretty expensive, but I don't think it's that good. I did read that using bicarbonate of soda is really good for whitening but the taste is pretty horrid. Anyone have any tips or advice?

Teeth whitening!!!!it really works

Postby hair lady » Wed Mar 02, 2005 7:49 pm

There is a product on the market called pearlie!you paint it on and it last till you next brush your teeth,
It's ok but it does look like you've applied tip ex!
I did try this about a year ago but it also feels awful on your teeth,Best product that realy deos work
Is used by dentists and costs a fortune,it is a 22% peroxide gel, which you can get from ebay!its better to get it from America, its alot cheaper even with postage!make sure you get 22% though as any lower will take longer to work,
If your anything like me i want it to work instantly!!and it does ,you can tell immediatly,it takes about 1 week to 10 days for to go white!,Just press teeth whitening on ebay and you should find some!

I've tried the Colgate Whitening Gel and the results were minor. I agree, you get better results with a dentists. The off the shelf products just aren't good enough.

I spent a fortune on having my teeth whitened at dentist with Britesmile. The results were minimal, a few shades. The first few days they were super white so it was really annoying when they lost the whiteness. Im 22 and I don't smoke or drink coffee or eat any sugar (other than fruit). So beware of spending a lot of money on tooth whitening treatments because they don't work for everyone.

I wouldn't suggest rubbing fruit on your teeth, fruit acids / sugars are bad for your teeth like other forms of sugar. Ask any dentist.

White teeth

Postby Happy One » Tue Mar 22, 2005 5:04 pm

Its probably the fruit acids that do the work. It'll only be a problem if used for months on end without brushing or rinsing afterwards. Besides your saliva will dilute and inactivate the acid pretty quickly too.

teeth whitening

Postby **jemima** » Tue Apr 05, 2005 10:54 pm

I have tried everything on the market because I resent having to pay my dentist so much money. However, my friend got hers done for £600 at a place on Harley Street and she looked like a new woman. That convinced me to do the same and so I went to Q Clinic on Harley Street and they were so good they are worth the free advertising. If you want results that last and really make a difference you should do the same. It is the best investment I made this year.
