The reason you keep going to the loo is because the tea contains a laxative.

It will probably help you lose a few pounds to start with, and might make your stomach flatter, but once it has cleared you out, any weight loss is water, and will go back on again as soon as you stop drinking the tea.

If you don't mind the trips to the loo I think its OK to take it for a while but I wouldn't stay on it long term.

Thanks, I didn't realise. Shall just use up the packet I have and not bother with anymore. I actually am a scientist, and ought to know better! but, am still a woman and am easily sucked in to trying random things!

Feiyan Tea

Postby supermama » Sun Nov 05, 2006 4:32 pm

It's actually an appetite suppressant, as well as boosting the metabolic rate. So, although it won't MAKE you lose weight, it will help you in conjunction with a healthy eating regime.

Also it detoxifies your body. After a month of using this my skin was like a baby's bottom!! And I'm 38. I lost quite a bit of weight but I wasn't depending solely on the tea.

It makes a very refreshing early morning cuppa.

:D

Don't use this - it messes up your body. I had 2 cups a day for 3 months because I wanted to be 8 stone when I start Uni. It made me go to the loo a lot and gave me some stomach aches, but I kept having it because I was losing weight. I lost one and a half stone and stopped taking it at the end of July when I was 8 stone. Since then I've had really bad constipation. I'm eating loads of fruit and fibre and drinking loads of water, but can still only go to the loo once or twice a week and then it isn't easy. I used to go to the loo every day with no trouble and I hate being constipated. The only good thing is that I've lost four more pounds, which I think must be because of all the healthy stuff I'm eating to try to stop the constipation and because sometimes I am so bunged up I don't feel like eating a lot. The tea has messed me up and I dont' know what to do about the constipation. Don't take it!

Feiyan Tea

Postby LoucyLou » Thu Nov 15, 2007 12:11 am

I have been drinking this for a week, my aunt is a chinese herbalist and has recommended it to me - it is one of the most popular teas in china for slimming. You MUST follow the directions! 1 cup a day for the first week and then 2 cups a day thereafter. This is to let your body get used to it, it has made me go to the toilet more often and I have had a slight stomach ache but my aunt had advised me that this is because this tea detoxifies your body and what it is getting rid of has to come out! A lot of mucus can build up in yr bowels (yuck i know) and this will loosen things if you know what i mean when it is expelled. I have been assured that once you get over the first week things settle down, my friend has been using it for a couple of months and she found that is what happened.

I really like the taste of the tea so fingers crossed it will do it's job!

Feiyan Tea

Postby modestbabe » Wed Nov 21, 2007 3:33 am

Has anybody been taking this tea for a number of years???

I started taking it 3 months before my wedding and lost a stone. Im still taking it, because it stops me from feeling bloated... but im a little concerned about long term effects. It more or less gives me dioarreah every day, and surely that can't be healthy for someone in the long run. Does anyone have a view on this?

My two daughters have this to help keep them slim. I give them a cup at breakfast and then they both need to go to the toilet when they get in from school. We have a weigh-in every Friday and if either of them has put on any weight I encourage them to drink more of it for a week or two. My eldest is 16 and although she weighs the least she's very happy to take whatever I give her and often asks for more and will drink quite a few cups in a day even though it makes her keep running to the loo. She tries to persuade my youngest who's 13 and 8 stone 5 to drink more, but she doesn't like taking it as it makes her bowels loose, although we can usually persuade her to have another cup at bed time if she's trying to lose weight.

It works well for my daughters. No problems and helps keep them slim so I'd recommend it.

Your daughters are 16 and 13 and you give them feiyan tea and weekly weigh ins and they weigh 8 stone or thereabouts.....pushy much? I dont think you are allowing your daughters to develop a healthy attitude about their bodies. 'If they have put on any weight I encourage them to drink more' - You are seriously pushing your kids into eating disorder territory. Let your kids BE kids and back off...

Also, on the box of my tea the instructions are written in very bad English. Could someone tell me what I'm supposed to do because I'm am very very confused? Thank you

What sort of parent are you???? I am completely disgusted by your actions. Are you aware that these kind of teas aren't suitable for children and pregnant women? You probably aren't because you didn't do your research.

Far enough they're your children and you decide what's best for them but how can you feel like you are doing what's best for your 13 year old child by forcing her to drink something to make herself slim. Talk about pressure. She's going to feel she NEEDS to be slim to make you happy and proud of her. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Your 16 year old may not mind, after all when I was her age (by the way I'm only 17) I felt I could do what I want and that's probably what she's doing but what about your 13 year old? She must feel persecuted for not wanting to drink the tea and be slim like you and your 16 year old do.

You should teach your daughters that being slim isn't everything and that you'll love them no matter how they look, big or small. You need to encourage your 13 year old to eat more healthily and do more exercise if she wants to be slim because, at the end of the day, she's only just hit puberty and needs all the nutrients she can get in order to develop into a healthy young woman and she needs to get this from a healthy balanced diet, not chinese herbal tea. And as for your 16 year old, that's her decision, she's not a child anymore, if she wants to drink the tea let her, if she doesn't then don't force her.

Please reconsider your decision to give this tea to your children.

Dieting

I second the sentiments of CrazyChick523 - coudn't have put it better myself. It's good to hear real wisdom like that being passed on. We owe our daughters, sisters, mothers, friends and ourselves the good sense not to sucked in by such extreme image-consciousness.

I ordered feiyan tea from ebay and i just got it in the mail today. Almost all the websites and people who've had the tea before said to only use one bag a day the first week and then 2 bags a day starting the second week...well I don' know if what i ordered is "fake" but on the box it said to take one bad each time and do it 2-3 times a day!!!!! what does everyone else think?
