Hello hon!!!
Just a quickie....I came off the pill in August '06, and had a period 45 days later, and then 54 days later, and then nothing for 8 months!!! I know how frustrated you are, but the fact that you are actually having periods should mean that you are ovulating. (I wasn't!)
The pill can take up to a year, somtimes longer, to get out of your system, so they would say wait a year. In the meantime, you could try Agnus Castus (Google it) tablets from health food shops to try to naturally regulate your cycles. They are ideal for women who have just come off the pill, and will encourage ovulation. You are supposed to take the tablets from the first day of your period to mid-cycle, and then stop them for the second half of your cyclem jus in case you become pregnant. Holland and Barrett do them.
If you have still not conceived after a year, go back to your GP. The best thing you can do is try to relax (I know it's easier said than done), eat well, get plenty of exercise, and have loads of sex throughout the month. Also, start taking folic acid if you are not already.
I ended up being referred to Gynae docs, and had loads of investigations where they diagnosed PCOS. I ended up on fertility treatment to kick start ovulation, and am now nearly 29 weeks pregnant. HTH and good luck. Why don't you become a member and join us in the members pregnancy forum? There are loads of women in there in the same situation as yourself, and the girls are great for advice.
