Music help!

Postby wife2b » Wed Apr 01, 2009 4:09 pm

Hi all!

I'm getting married in feb next year and am trying to book a dj for the reception - however, I'm stumped! I dont know where to start, me and the husband to be are both quite in music so really want some good stuff played on our night...any ideas on where to start? We havent really had any recommendations, as we are one of the first couples in our group of friends who have got engaged and the ones that have have either got married abroad or done something completly different.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

wife2b xx :D

What sort of age groups are going and who's more likely to get up and dance?
We're having music from 50's and 60's right up to the present, we both love music too and want a big range. My pil2b love to jive so we have some 50 and 60 music, then we have the 70 and 80 lovers and then a few more people our age who'll probably appreciate the more recent music. Hope you manage to get it sorted :)

We are the same, we had no idea where to start. We managed to get a couple of recommendations from people who have had DJ's for birthday parties etc.

Are you getting married in a hotel? We are having our reception and evening in a hotel and they have recommended some reasonably priced people. We have contacted a couple of DJ's and asked if we can go and see them doing a function. Why don't you do that?
