Is it true you can poo when pushing ?

Is it just a joke or is it quite common when pushing a baby out through natural vaginal birth that a lot of women push poo out from them at the same time ?

Yes it is, they're sposed to inject with something to stop you from doing it but in some cases it can be too late.

Inject you with something to stop it????? Wow never heard of that over here, I know (some?) doctors want you to have an enema to 'clear you out' when you first go into labor but imo I would think turdlets would be better vs hershey squirts

To answer the question yes you can poo while pushing, the nurses will discreetly clean it up with out comment (and if they did make a deal out of it I think I would walk out mid labor or not). It is a natural thing to happen, not nice but natural/normal.

Yea its true....but as you say foolsgold its normally discretly removed without comment.....but proabably smell!!

Ive also heard that sometimes they use a plug.....here's hoping the do give us injections emma....id gladly get stabbed in the ass with a needly (i no thats prob not where they give you it) that Sh!te meself with an audience!!!

This was one of my anxieties.. by the time I was pushing that kid out I could have happily crapped all over the bed and not cared. It is the least of your worries trust me.

They used to inject you, but they dont anymore.
I agree with Captain - once your pushing, your not bothered if you poop yourself of not!!!
You do tend to have the "runs" whilst in the latter stage of labour and have to poo. I didnt with Chloe, i had the sensation,but never came. With Sophie i had to go!!!!
