paperlights  why are you not happy??? was your child not planned ??

i have three sons 9,7 and 22mnths and yes it is hard work but i have enjoyed every minute of it they are my world and make me smile everyday with the most stupid things they do......but not only that i enjoy the rewards of being a mother they may be lill bugga's at times and trust me my youngest is driving me mad at the min but i love them so much i enjoy teaching them and learning from them also :D

i am a mother that would keep having children if i could..... home and money are no problem we have always worked for our money and got on with life on our own as a married couple and i thank my lucky stars i had three gorgeous happy boys but unfortunatley i had to stop for health reasons but that hasnt stopped us thinking about adopting having a lill life around is precious and should be enjoyed xxx

Sometimes it's the best job in the world, sometimes it's the hardest but often it's both. I find it hard switching from mum to work mode to wife mode and sometimes get fed up with the mundane chores and caught up in everyday stuff. But it's usually so rewarding that it's all worthwhile. They just grow up so quickly and get more and more independent every day.

I think when you have other tasks at hand, you do not like to be a mother of a toddler. But if you are a a stay at home mom and its your first child, you enjoy. I have enjoyed that phase.

I have 2 kids ages 3 and 4, and it is really hard raising a toddler and a kid. I have to juggle everything but what's make it best is that at the end of the day and I'm beside DH and I have accomplished everything smoothly and my kids are well-fed and not deprived of attention even though I am very busy is very fulfilling. And just the smiles on their faces, their laughter and their innocence can take the stress and exhaustion away. :)

I am a father of 2 boys (3 and 4) and can tell that this job is devastating. You work every day pretty hard (including weekends and even vacation), but the results will be visible only in 20 years. Sometimes I really think that the main skill this job trains is patience :)
Patience is the main virtue.

i'm very relaxed with my boys sure it's tough at times but they are both very happy and fun loving boys , i have a half sister who has 2 young girls and she has a very strict routine and she's always knackered sticking to it religiously, dont get me wrong kids need a routine but only as a guideline making sure they are happy and content and know how to have fun is the art of good parenting.

my boys both have good diets and both eat well but yes we let them have takeaway foods yes we let them drink fizzy drinks and yes we let them eat sweets but all in moderation

i think the main thing is dont stress about the silly things just let your kids grow into their own characters and the rewards are bigger then winning the lottery

i totally agree with the thread title, i have found parenting the best and the hardest thing i have ever done. my kids are older now, 17,22,24yrs and it is more rewarding for me seeing my hard work paying off, watching my kids make homes/lives of their own. as a fairly young mum as i was, my daughter is too. 22yrs and 1.5 kids herself. that is a reward in itself.

True that raising children is a job especially when one of your children have a lifetime impairment like deafness. What needs to be considered is giving that special child the best support for deaf that parents could give and most especially love. Although the child needs special care, nevertheless it should be given the best in the world can provide for they could become successful persons in the community.
