Hi,

I was on cerazette for a few years, and I can see that I am not the only one to suffer from the horrid side effects that this pill can have on your body.
I had completely lost my libido, tired all the time and feeling quite "menopausal" without any periods whatsoever.
I am also trying to lose weigh and am absolutely convinced that cerazette and the complete loss of periods doesn't help.
Anyway, stopped it it has been a few weeks now and still no period...waiting game , hope my body gets rid of the hormonr asap.Feeling much better now without it anyway!!

Hi there, pleased I found this thread..wow I started cerazette on April 7th 2011, bleed for a week then it stopped for a few days then I bleed VERY heavily for 3weeks and so I took my self off it as it was horrible, also felt like my ovaries (didnt know you could feel your ovaries!) were radioactive haha :( but it really felt like that. Since stopping No period. Then I had 5 days of my breasts being so very sore.. i thought i was pregnant. Took x2 tests and they were negative. Still no period and waiting and still having the odd feeling in my ovaries from time to time...this is a scary pill!!!!!!!

Re: Side Effects After Stopping cerazette

I've never done this before so hope it all makes sense.
I went to the doctor after spot bleeding from my previous pill and was put on cilest i bleed everyday for a month and generally feel unwell so went back to drs they changed pill again to cerazette, i continued to bleed for just over a month, going from light to heavy, some days the tiniest bit it was almost unnoticable then heavy again, then it just stopped. 2 weeks later the bleeding started again by now i'd had enough so came off the pill, that was the 29th april, i'm not trying for a baby but just wanted to give my body time to sort its self out before i try another pill, but now i'm worried. I have had no bleeding, not even for 1 day, i have had unprotected sex once ( drunken forgetfulness). I have sore boobs, increased appetite, really tired, heart burn, hicups (which my mum got with both her pregnancys from the min she was preg) feeling sick. Basically all the symptons to make me think i was pregnant, so on 30th may i done a pregnancy test, it came back negitive.

Worried that i am actually preg just done test to early? or that there is something wrong as still no bleeding?
I have my first smear test next week as turning 25 next week, shall i wait till then before i do something about this worry?
Any advice would be really appreciated as cant get this worried feeling out of my head?
Thanks xx

I'm 20 and I've been on Cerazette for just over a year now after reacting badly to Cillest. I never had a period whilst on this pill (which meant having to buy multiple pregnancy tests), and had to stop taking Cerazette two weeks ago as I had missed two pills unknowingly and my doctor made me take the morning after pill (4 days after having unprotected sex). I've now been waiting for my period to show for two weeks and needless to say, I am feeling exactly like this! I have that 'feeling' of being pregnant - nausea, headache, fatigue (some days it's really bad), and an ache in my right ovary every now and again... I've taken two pregnancy tests and both came up negative. I'm concerned and really need to know if I am pregnant, and if so is everything is okay - not ectopic etc! So my doctor said I should have a period within three weeks so if I don't come on by this time next week, I'm definitely going to book an appointment to have a blood test/ urine test... Also considering staying off the pill from now on as having no period just doesn't seem natural, especially reading all of the worries and concerns on this forum!

Drug Usage In The Nfl

Drug Urine Levels
order sertraline
Another trade name used to refer to the same chemical composition is Lustral.
zoloft medication
Depression is not a headline making condition, and that probably explains why Zoloft isn’t either.

Reading this has been an eye opener, I am a pharmacy technician and suffering from all the same symptoms as most on here, the leaflet that comes with Cerazette certainly doesn't mention that we are gonna feel awful whilst on and after taking it.
I came off a week ago and from day 2 experienced cramps so assumed my period was going to show, 5 days later and nothing but feeling bloated, tearful, low moods, tired, - but also having trouble sleeping, slightly menopausal (in my family usually happens in your 50's and I am early 30's)
My weight whilst on cerazette has gone up loads, I admit I don't always eat the right stuff but I am not a binge eater or live on a diet of fried foods, I work on my feet all day, bike to work and exercise for 2 hours each week so I know this is partly down to this pill.
Whilst on the pill I had a sex drive but less active than usual and since coming off it has disappeared altogether.
I am just hoping that things will return to normal soon

Re: Side Effects After Stopping cerazette

Postby Xald » Sun Jul 17, 2011 11:44 am

I have been on cerazette for 6 months now. It made no difference to my moods but my appetite went through the roof! I was prescribed the pill by my doctor for menstrual pain and was told it would stop the bleeding as i am allergic to pads and tampons. After 6 months my periods had still not stopped and the pain was no less. I was just getting bigger and bigger due to the appetite issue. As the pill had not had the desired effect i decided to stop when i ran out just one week ago. I also started my period on this day.

Since then i have been feeling constantly sick, dizzy, headache etc I have also had diarrhoea on and off. Do you think the sickness is caused by the pill? I have been very stressed this last couple of weeks though i do not normally get these symptoms when stressed, i know they are common.

Has anyone else had this issue?
six or seven people i know are on cerazette and describe it as a dream

Any info would be much appreciated! I am now coming to the end of this period and am worried about another starting as has done before when on this pill. Especially as i go on holiday in 3 days!!

Hi, after reading other posts I thought I'd share my experience of Cerazette. I was taking it for around 8 months which during this time I suffered anxiety & was prescribed mild antidepressants. Since coming off this pill in December 2010, I no longer need the antidepressants for my mood or for any anxiety. I am a little worried this pill has had a negative impact on my monthly cycle as I have only had 2 periods (feb & June 2011) since stopping. I visited the doctor recently who told me he had never heard anything about Cerazette & the loss of fertility & periods. Pregnancy tests results are negative but still no periods. I wouldn't recommend this pill to anyone, it's a waiting game. Totally messes up your body!

Re: Side Effects After Stopping cerazette

Postby Gemz » Sat Sep 17, 2011 4:06 pm

Hi all,

I'm now 27 and started taking Cerazette about 3 years ago, I felt 100% fine and happy whilst on this pill (apart from not having any periods at all). I split with my boyfriend shortly after this and stopped taking the pill, i had all the side effects explained, bloating, weight gain, cramps, mood swings, over emotional, depression, hair loss, but put most of them down to stress because of my split (as did my doctor!) Because i felt better on the pill i started taking it again. I have since tried coming off the pill a further 2 times but as I felt so rotten and cant stand the side effects have gone back on it, i know this has been really bad for my body but as i've been through some tough times recently thought it was the best thing to do. The longest break i've had from Cerazzete has been just under 3 months and still felt horrible...

I stopped taking the pill just over a week ago and sure enough the side effects have returned including low sex drive  I really have to get through these horrible side effects this time. Please can someone shed light on how long I will feel like this????
I'M PULLING MY HAIR OUT...WELL WHATS LETF OF IT!!!!

Re: Side Effects After Stopping cerazette

Postby vixiepix » Mon Oct 10, 2011 7:25 pm

Hi. Im wondering if anyone has any advice.

I've been on Cerazette for the past 2 years and have enerally had pretty regular periods. However, last month I was a week early and this month, so far, im a week late.

I havent missed any so there's about a 0.01% chance im pregnant.

I've heard stories that some women just randomly stop their periods on this pill, and some real horror stories about being late then having a really bad one.

I've taken myslef off the pill to try and encourage my period.

Any advice please?!?!
