Why can't I send emails

Please excuse this if this question has already been asked but I can't find it in the search.

I am at present unable to get my emails sent. When I click on send they seem to 'go' but then the internet connection gets chopped off and a Norton message comes up later saying email not sent. It would seem that the internet connection ending happens before the email has fully been sent. I use to connections one 6 meg and one 8 meg. Any ideas?

Are you trying to send unarchived exe files?

Much more information needed. What operating system, email program - Outlook, Thunderbird etc. I presume you are on broadband, so what do you mean by "internet connection gets chopped off", is your connection to your ISP being dropped? Frankly it doesn't make much sense, the only thing that springs to mind is a firewall problem.
