I hope Jen's next movie role will be drama. She hasn't done this in a while. I am crossing my fingers for Buttercup or Goree Girls. I love her in comedy, but would just like to see her in something Good Girl kind of role

Someone like George Clooney. I like him but some of the movies he is nominated for are not even that great. Same with Meryl Streep. I love her dearly but not all her movies deserve nominations. Unfortunately most of them know to just make Oscar bait movies and they have a guaranteed nomination. For me I now root for the underdogs. I want Michelle Williams to win the Lead though. She deserves it and so did Natalie Portman for her last year win. Viola might win but compared to Octavia Spencer she was underwhelming . For the males I can't tell who deserves it because I only watched George Clooney's movie and personally I was disappointed that he got a nomination over Leonardo who I thought was great in his film. But oh well it is what it is.

Could not agree more. Ryan Gosling is another actor who was snubbed, and he should have gotten nominated for "Drive". Instead they nominated Pittstain who shouldn't have been in the running for anything, let alone "best actor".

See I am not a Pitt fan but if he deserves a nomination then he should get one but honestly from trailers Moneyball didn't really interest me and also read the article from the Lewis guy and it was just ok. Last time I though he deserved a nomination was for Babel which was a good film. But oh well. I love Ryan Goslin and I think he was snubbed for Blue Valentine last year. He did deserve an Oscar nom. I haven't watched Drive yet so can't really say.

that quote about being being offered scripts to be old enough to be a mother of a 17year old, made me wonder if she's considering the Cheerleader bio movie. i hope she takes it.

I had completely forgotten about that movie, but that would be a great role - depending on the angle/script/others involved. I think thought that it was at the very early stages when we first heard about that a year ago or more - no script even - so who knows when that will finally get made!I hope Jen's next movie role will be drama. So agree with you Lola! I really want her in an indie or drama next - that's where she really needs to mix things up: her roles! Obviously she's a gifted comedienne, but the roles for woman in comedies don't always let her play that up, and it would be nice to show off her other talents again.
Re the awards discussion - I so agree that there have been plenty of other performances more worthy this year. And, I'm beyond tired of hearing from Clooney or Pitt in their never-ending campaigns. The Oscars has become far too political. Just read over at Deadline about all the events, press, Q&As, etc., that they've all been doing. It's ridiculous. It seems to me that more and more the industry seems to decide which movies/people they are going to get behind for Oscars, often even before they are released. For example, there's already Oscar talk for next year for films like The Great Gatsby, coming out NEXT Christmas. It seems to be based on nothing more than hype built up from the names involved - and how popular they are - and the fact the film is released during "awards bait season." Instead of waiting to see the films and deciding then whether something/someone is truly worthy of awards praise, it seems like the nominees are already assumed way in advance.

You put it more perfectly. I am just as tired of Pitt and Clooney as you are and the Oscar bait movies. That just turns me off actors in general. Whatever happened to just doing one interview with Oprah or Barbara Walters and being done with it? IMO there should be a rule that no movies are nominated before they open. If the GG are in Dec and the movie is coming out in February then they should wait for the next year to be nominated. Many great films have been left off the ballot while mediocre ones are nominated just because of the names associated with the films. Same thing has crossed over the music industry and it's just a shame.

Happy 43rd Birthday, Jennifer Aniston!
It’s Jennifer Aniston’s 43rd birthday tomorrow! Considering she made her name on a show called Friends, it’s not surprising that the actress has made plenty of real-life Hollywood pals over the course of her career. Her close-knit group of girlfriends includes Courteney Cox and Chelsea Handler, while leading men like Gerard Butler, Owen Wilson and Jake Gyllenhaal are part of her line-up of handsome co-stars. To celebrate Jen’s birthday, we’re taking a look at some snaps of the star with her famous friends. Be sure to check out her beauty evolution on Bella, too!
Happy 43rd Birthday, Jennifer Aniston!
Jennifer Aniston is celebrating her 43rd birthday tomorrow and to celebrate, we're taking a trip down memory lane to check out just how far everyone's favourite girl-next-door has come in the style stakes. Famed for her mane, the birthday girl recently told InStyle that she's thinking of switching things up, ditching her signature blonde hue in favour of a darker style so stay tuned, 43 could be a time of big beauty changes for the former Friends star. Have a good one, Jen.

Couldn't agree more. It just reeks of desperation. The Artist is genius and the two leads more than deserve the Oscar this year. Clooney, and especially Pitt, both need to let it go.

SEE BIRTHDAY GIRL JENNIFER AN.ISTON'S SWEETEST PICTURES WITH JUSTIN THEROUX
Jennifer Ani.ston turns 43 tomorrow, and we're getting a jump on the celebration by sharing her cutest photos with boyfriend Justin Theroux. The pair met while filming Wanderlust in 2010, which finally hits theaters Feb. 24, and sparked up a relationship in the Spring of 2011. By Summer, they were officially stepping out together, looking glowing and happy at events. Their relationship blossomed in the Fall when they were spotted enjoying many romantic strolls around NYC's West Village. Jennifer has introduced Justin to her friends and family, and she reportedly just purchased a new multimillion-dollar Bel Air mansion that they'll share. Happy birthday to Jen, and click through to see their most loved-up photos.
