A brokered convention ? Sarah the stupid has come out and said she ready to abandon her new career as right wing babbler & village idiot of Wassila to be the candidate for president at the Republican convention this summer.

Romney may be leading delegate wise but still has only about 30% among the party and Sanatarium is gaining fast .

If Romney doen't win big in Michigan next week a brokered convention looks more likely .

Wud be amazing , probably assure Obamaa's victory ( especially of the village idiot of Wasssila is the nominee ) and be great watching on tv . :D

Sarah still doesn't matter.

I don't think a Romney loss in Michigan is the end of the world either. It doesn't look particularly promising, and he'd lose to any of the other three if facing them one on one.

Media has shifted focus to attacking each individually rather than publicising them attacking each other. Apparently Santorum is a very scary character, lol.

I think Sarah is a has been too but that vain goat is so full of herself do believe she's expecting the party to come running to her .

Sanatarium looks like a Catholic extremist just like my gf's mother.................... :yikes: Wonder if he too vacuums the rocks in the garden by the back door ?

Now that he is attacking Obama's religion wonder how long it is before he goes after Romney's Mormonism ?

Am hoping he does well in Michigan since it only weakens the Republicans :D .

A real live brokered convention wud be amazing and also hurt whoever is nominated.

Ok, that is just awesome.

Santorum didn't attack Obama's religion. Objective main stream media just running with the story they wanted to tell rather than worrying about pesky reality.
He does have some archaic social views (that won't be relevant to a Presidency anyway) that I'm sure the media will be riding for as long as he's in the race. That (previously respected) sleezeball Stephanopoulis got things started by planting the birth control question. Any dog and pony show to distract from Obama's policies and the economy is fair game.

The Republicans can't seem to decide between four guys each of which they'd rather see be President than Obama. I think a brokered convention would be interesting to watch. It might spell doom against a formitable candidate but this year that's not the case.

My gf 's mother is the perfectionist's perfectionist and gives new meaning to the word anal .

The Obama people did a good job of fighting back when Sanatarium attacked the President's religion . Sanatarium had to back track but am sure he got his message of bigotry & hate to the right wing religious voters it was aimed at .

Disgusting , a founding principal of America was religious freedom & respect for all religions .Now this warhead from Pennsyvania is deliberately using religious hatred . :x .

Don't see Stephanopoulos as a sleaze at all .Actually a very well meaning person .Cute too, there should be a George Stephanopoulos doll.

If by 'the Obama people' you mean the 'main steam media', and by 'fighting back' you mean 'twisting context' then I agree. It was fine politics.

In the original remarks he specifically stated he wadn't using the term in the biblical sense. On the off chance there was confusion that should have created enough doubt in any impartial journallist to ask a follow up question about what he meant. Instead the media runs with an attach on religion.

I do like the phony theology line though, and think it applies in the biblical sense too. At the 2012 National Prayer Breakfast Obama basically said Jesus would approve of his proposed tax policy.
I spent some time in Sunday school but don't recall Jesus being pro big governement. Seemed like he was more of the personal responsibility type.
Jesus would vote for Santorum. :D

Santorum has issues and is simply not going to attract moderate females...unless they like to be employed. I think its fair to attack him on those, not nonsense like his theology comment - unless people have issue with what he was actually saying.

I looked up his statements yesterday. I read it backward and forwards, several times, and I agree with tidho, he was NOT saying what people have twisted it and spun it to be. I have no reason to side with Santorum and back him up. He kind of scares me, but I also must say I haven't been listening too much to what he has to say. But... the bull about what he 'meant' is just that... Bull!

One thing I think too many Americans do is listen to the spin from commentator instead of listening to/or retrieving the content of dialog from the Internet to see for themselves what has transpired from the mouth of the ones who actually said it.

First of all I'm not sure that speech is going viral to court evangelicals....which Santorum already has locked up. I think its going viral to (accurately) paint him as an evangelical and damage him.

As for the comments, honestly what exactly is the problem?

Satan is a standard concept in every religion - ornery and known for influencing the good to do evil. I would completely expect the east coast elitist comedy establishment to have a feild day but what was the guy really saying?

This ----> Abortion is bad, universities promote liberalism, and morality in America is eroding. I'm pro choice and still agree with all three of those things, lol. You don't have to go back to some old speach for that either its probably all on his website right now.

There's separation of state & religion here and anyone who like Sanatarium who starts talking the way he's been worrys many .

Do we want government by Pat Robertson or American Protestant or Catholic versions of the ayatollahs that run Iran ?

That's a fascinating word choice - seperation of "state & religion". Seem to recall the word church somewhere in The Constitution, as in a specific organized religion rather than just 'religion in general. Do realize thats a tough pill for you people to swallow though. :P

I haven't seen Santorum's views reach beyond basic Catholisism. We survived Kennedy and Kerry was deemed acceptable so I'm not sure why its a problem now. I'm far from lock step with the religious right and understand why it could raise concern with some, but for the most part this is just the media shaping the electorate.

RvW is safe, no one is interested in banning birth control, and prenatal screenings will go on even if Santorum is elected. These are topics only relevent for shaping votes not for shaping policy.

But earlier you said:

You are now saying the opposite to what you said yesterday that I quoted above. And, let me remind you, as of date, and I am a day or two older than you, I have NEVER heard as much "religion" coming from any POTUS as I have heard from President Obama. Not even Reagan!

I can understand your use of "Ayatollah". That is one word that has popped in my mind as well a time or two. Some of what I'm hearing concerns me as well.

As for the Catholic church... Again, Paul said it well last night. He used the example that guns don't kill. People do. Same as the issues of Pro-life. It's morals that have decreased. But I do NOT think government should get involved in reproduction. And, I don't understand why the Catholic church or whoever that disagrees with contraception can't be exempted from the Insurance and a credit be issued via policy price reduction. Of course, that's just my simple thinking because it's not making much sense to me. The Catholic church at least does something about taking care of children in need. But, I think it was Gingrich that said something about the church losing a tax credit and they had to "drop something". Sorry... shame on me. My thought at the time was, IF it's that important, forget the tax credit. Follow the conscience. Like I said in the Obama thread, this argument lacks common sense and they seem to be talking out of both sides of their mouths. :?

Obama may talk about religion which am sure means alot to him and many voters like .

Never doing tings like Santorum does like questioning other candidate's religious beliefs and attacks on birth control .

A brokered convention this summer since Romney isn't going over with most Republicans ?

Lena I think you missed it in the last couple posts as it was explained that he didn't question Obama's faith. If there were any doubt he came out and specifically confirmed that he believed Obama told the truth about his faith.

Still not thinking the brokered convention happens. Too many deals to be made between then and now. Could see Santorum as the next Secretary of State.

Romney's "Is this government program so important that it's worth borrowing money from China to pay for it?" add just started running in Ohio. I hope who ever wins this mentality catches on, its long over due.

Rumors abound that he's considering Ron Paul for VP. Might be enough muscle to survive the primary and would unite Libertarians and moderates. Very formidable combination...as long as Obamahate is enough to get the right to show up.
Hope its true.
