Somehow US forgot that she had 3 $20 million+ openings in that timeframe, and just last year had 1 film open at #1 and the other at #2 - both with about $30 million debuts.

This is the type of bad "reporting" that irks me where Jennifer is concerned - because not only is it unfair and false, but it spreads a message that she has a terrible box office record to those that simply read that without checking her actual numbers. You never see such headlines on US about others either.

I see your point but I think the industry people who matter know the truth. The industry wants to make money and Jennifer makes just that.

Of all the stories they printed about jennifer in the last couple of years THIS is the story to SUE them because they are reporting a false fact. I would do that if i were her just to get back at them. A##holes

Frivolous lawsuits aren't her style. If she were going to sue about anything it would have to be for more than inaccurate reporting by some tabloid rag. If she were to open that can of worms she would have to hire someone just to handle those lawsuits since just about everything the tabs print on Jen is inaccurate. Those that matter in the industry don't read US magazine.

exactly. its just par for the course for Jennifer and what she has to put up with. IF she were going to sue someone, I'd start with some of the vile blogs. I still say this "trashing" of Jennifer can be traced to "the brand". The people who hire Jennifer know the truth which is why much to the loons' chagrin Jennifer's more successful than ever.

That same exact story is on wonderwall, omg yahoo and some other websites who copied it. And this is a story she can prove to be false. A normal story about her in the tabloids says "a source says" so she can't sue that but this..... If only to teach BS Weekly a lesson and while she's at it she can sue the rest to.

Why? and only call more attention to the crap? The people that matter know the truth about Jennifer and what she brings to the table. She has nothing to prove.

I'm well aware that no one in the industry agrees with that US Weekly story (or reads it for any truth), but the fact it exists irks me because of the false nature and that the general public who read it and don't know any better or look any further (and take it at face value), get the false impression that she has a terrible box office track record. This is why so many have this belief that "all of Jennifer's films flop" - I read this statement all too often in connection to her and it's because so many sites falsely report on her box office numbers.

The more accurate headline would have been for US to say "Paul Rudd's Wanderlust Bombs at the Box Office" and then had an article saying this is his third consecutive $7 million or less opening - after all he's both the main lead, and an exec producer AND has a history with Wain and the others.

Am I the only one that doesn't care that this movie bombed? I watched it and it was freaking hilarious. That is all I wanted out of it--to laugh, to be entertained; and I wasn't disappointed. The tabloids can write whatever the hell they want, as much as they want. The studio on the other hand know who brings in the $$, and they know its Jennifer and they will continue to hire her. I doubt she gives a shiit, so why should we?!

Now, you know what is REALLY annoying? The overhyped Oscars. I can't tell you how annoying that shiit is. I can't wait for this goddamn show to be over already. Everyone and their asskissing for a stupid statue needs to jump off the damn bridge.

I agree MaryT but would it do any good for Jennifer to get involved with a law suit? I don't think that's the answer. fortunately people like Bateman have been speaking up for Jennifer which is the only way I thin it can be handled. It is irksome but unfortunately it comes with the territory for Jennifer. Jennifer's had and has an amazing career which any actress would envy. US magazine can't take that away from her no matter how hard they try.

I'm more frustrated with Huvane who needs to learn to pick his battles. Frankly he sucks as PR agent, he truly does. I think Jennifer should dump him and get someone with more common sense.

So US Weekly doesn't take comments unless from facebook?

Someone with facebook needs to send them this link from a year ago. JGWI #1 that weekend.

Universal’s “Wanderlust,” an R-rated comedy about an unemployed Manhattan couple (<A HREF='http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/celebrity/?celeb=<A HREF='http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/celebrity/?celeb=Jennifer Aniston' target='_blank'>Jennifer Aniston</A>' target='_blank'><A HREF='http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/celebrity/?celeb=Jennifer Aniston' target='_blank'>Jennifer Aniston</A></A> and Paul Rudd) who experiment with living on a rural commune where free love is the rule, grossed an austere $6.6 million to place eighth. Judd Apatow produced the David Wain film which earned mixed reviews; audiences gave the film a “B-“ CinemaScore, while females comprised 57% of attendees; 61% were over 30. Relativity was a partner in the film; with a budget of $30 million, its long term prospects look to be in the red.

I'm surprised at 57% female and 61% over 30.

I just found the info from Role Models posted below. Interesting for comparison
Wanderlust: B- Cinemascore; 43% male/57% female; 39% under 30/61% over 30
Role Models: A- Cinemascore; 53% male/47% female; 51% under 25/49% over 25

Anyone know why the under 30's flocked to Role Models but not this?

Saw Wanderlust today and have some thoughts. First, I can see why Jen started to really warm up to Justin during the shooting of this movie. He really played his part well and is a very relaxed actor with a sincere way of looking at you that is convincing and likeable. He played a cult leader with just the right measure of tongue in cheek. The actors all did right by their parts and I have to applaud Rudd for uttering a string of goofy, albeit repulsive, words with total zeal even though they were ridiculous and not particularly funny.

These writers must get a kick out of making actors embarrass themselves saying silly things, including women saying bold sexual things. And how about all that frontal nudity … sometimes it isn’t so pretty! I loved seeing Jen have a psychedelic experience but think she was told to show empathy (I know it’s her strong point) a little too often throughout the movie. I think the directing had an ambience that needed adjusting … the timing seemed off by a few seconds. Otherwise, I found seeing this camp from the 60s interesting. It managed to show the hypocray without demeaning the original good intentions of these folk.

And I do love happy endings so came away feeling good about it all and wondering what happened to Seth in the end … once his true colors were exposed. I think a dozen different people will react a dozen different ways to this movie. And much of what you laugh at will depend on age and many other factors. This is not a simple movie to describe and needs some serious mulling over. Maybe I’ll come back once I figure it out.

As for why I went to this movie and took my partner with me … it IS solely Jennifer. She drew me in and I will continue to see any movie she is in because I like her and am willing to see movies I wouldn’t otherwise go to if she is in them.

Of course all the stupid websites and tabloids would only blame Jen for the movie not doing well, forgetting that Paul Raud is a lead and should also take the blame. They have done that with several actresses including Reese and Sandra and that is really annoying. Anyways her movies not doing well doesn't make me quit being a fan of hers. As far as the Oscars go, I find the show to be very boring and very predictable and their is no way I would sit there an watch until the last minute where they hand out the major awards. I just don't understand why we have so many award shows in the first place. Golden Globes, SAG, Oscars, etc and all around the same time. Jeez at least split them up.
