i don´t think so...i think it is her attempt at being warm--she is a very cold person--that is well shown in her interaction with the kids--she is not motherly and warm at all--she tries by smiling and touching etc--but the bodylanguage tells it all--it is awkward
so i think the claw hands are her idea of being "passionate"--and lovley,sweet warm--etc

Combination of both I think. She is a controllfreak, so she would probably want to be the dominant one at all times. But it being an attempt to seem warm makes sense too.
