Limbaugh does not speak for the party, and he's not even close to being in lock step with it. I wish the party shared more of his policy views actually.
It all reminds me of people calling the Tea Party movement racist...some components may be (components are lots of different things), but the movement itself, the link, is about government responsibility. Same thing here, Limbaugh being a sexist blowhard (or whatever) is not a logical reflection on Republican policy.
People take Limbaugh far too seriously, he's playing a character. My suspicion was confirmed long ago during an appearance on Letterman whe he participated in a mock commercial for ficticious brand of canned ham called 'Big Ass Ham' (use your imagination). He's laughing at himself all the way to the bank.
limbaugh is an entertainer however owing to his huge audience he is the intellectual guide for the Republican Party .No Republican candidate for office anywhere has broken with that gasbag on the issues.
Am proud to say we Democrats don't have anyone like that .
