Not that visiting prostitutes when you're attached to a beautiful woman like Liz Hurley isn't disturbing by itself, but you know what I mean.

Divine Brown isn't a transvestite. Perhaps you're confusing Hugh Grant for Eddie Murphy who was caught soliciting a transvestite hooker. In the pantheon of transgressions with prostitutes, I consider being serviced orally the least sinful (though still potential for STDs). Contrast the continuous sexual relations Eliot Spitzer had with his call girl (who was admittedly very pretty) of various sexual acts.

Apologies, I was corrected earlier in the thread. Yes - that will the reason, Eddie being caught with a transvestite hooker - thanks.

No need for apologies. It's easy to misremember or confuse one incident for the other.

Easy. By reading or getting information about them. Not only the positive ones, but also the negative ones. The way she handles her divorce, for example. This woman is the most pictured/featured woman on the planet. Not as a winner, but as a looser. But she fights back and comes out better than her ex-husband.

The way she handles everything shows nothing, but dignity, class and power as a woman. She is also a fierce business woman. Everything she touches turn into a profit. Based on the facts that she has a lot of friends also shows that she has a warm heart. You read the article about her visiting RDJ when nobody did (admitted by RDJ's former agents, and then proven by the last event, somehow, I can believe it was true).

I adored, admired and respected Mother Theresa, even when I never met her.

You don't have to meet or know somebody to adore or respect them. We can follow their lives, learn about their decisions by information. We can learn something from them. The question only, whether or not we are willing to use our brains when we read the information.

Thanks for explaining. I understand your adoration for Mother Theresa because she did great work for humanity. I adore Ghandi, for example - I am even on the hunt for a good poster of him to frame and put in my hallway. But someone who pretends to be another person for a living, or is famous for being...I don't know, big-breasted, or having romped naked with another so-called celebrity in front of a camera; these people just do not "do it" for me. I don't think they contribute that much. Jen cannot seriously be compared to Mother Theresa. I know she may do some great charity work outwith her formal occupation but come on, she is just an actress who earns a fortune for doing very little. The only thing she has to do is maintain her appearance - especially her weight, and work for perhaps 3 months out of 12 for huge amounts of money. Good for her, but why should anyone think highly of that? Plus women go through divorces with grace all the time, I know many that have done so and I am proud of them.

Celebrity worship just doesn't compute with me, but thank you for trying to explain. I don't find Jen offensive and I still watch the re-runs of Friends if I happen to catch what I call "incidental television" - at a friend's house, or at my parent's, for example. I don't own a TV and I don't buy magazines or tabloid papers. So you can see why I may have trouble understanding this level of celebrity worship. I reject it, I think it is ridiculous.

I am not comparing her with Mother Theresa (the idea makes me cringe, actually). I just wanted to say that we can adore/respect somebody without meeting them.

I am not sure being an actress or performer can be said for doing a little. Maintaining an appearance can be a Bleet sometimes. Any flaw that appears on your face or body can be deadly for your career/life. Yes, many women have gone through divorces, but none - if not very few - gone through in a global dimension the way Jen did. Still, she's graceful. And she makes me laugh. I don't always agree/like her movies, but as a woman, she's one of my idols.

I am not worshiping any celebrity. Brian May of Queen, perhaps. He's a rocker, he's classy, intelligent (he has a doctorate title in Astrophysics), down to earth, he's a soft-spoken man and very kind, handsome and what a sexy mouth he has.... :D, I think I am drooling now.

Haha...it's all coming out now isn't it? I have a secret crush on *drum roll* Russell Brand  I give my full permission to be verbally abused in any reply to this horrendous confession.

Okay, I understand better now: you see Jen as a positive role model. I can well understand that. Although I mainly look for role models in real life, I definitely see Ghandi as a role model. And I agree that Jennifer has gone down in history as having the most humiliating public divorce, and she handled it with dignity and grace.

Justin still sucks though :P

That's a bit simplified. And it doesn't make his act correct too. What about he made mistakes, and those who commented/comment what he did simply point out the fact?

He had a girlfriend/fiancée, he cheated on her. Good thing, he apologized.

No no. That does not coincide with my feelings...

When I see a pic of Hugh Grant, I become an idiot just like Justlly/Jenloon. My critical thinking disappears instantly. Just like that! Poof!

Not the person you're responding to but I would like to hitch onto your message, if you don't mind.

Mother Teresa isn't all she's cracked up to be. Her charitable work wasn't entirely altruistic but instead evangelistic in line with missionaries more concerned about converting the natives than truly relieving them of their distress. May be controversial so everyone can decide for herself. Christopher Hitchens wrote a great expose on her. But should that poster still admire her knowing Mother Teresa's ulterior motives, I don't have a problem with it.

But someone who pretends to be another person for a living, or is famous for being...I don't know, big-breasted, or having romped naked with another so-called celebrity in front of a camera; these people just do not "do it" for me. I don't think they contribute that much.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I despise fakeness. In contrast, I appreciate people's candor and straight-shooting such that even if their opinions clash with mine, I still like that they speak their mind instead of pandering to the public. Reminds me of policiticians.

About Mother Theresa, her ulterior motives were her business with her God. The fact tho, she saved a lot lives with her mission.

Hitchens criticized everybody, even Mel Gibson. What can I say? Everybody has their own opinion about anybody. I won't take everything what he wrote as a fact. He's an Atheist, I didn't expect him to understand Catholicism. And about the things he wrote, I think, more than 40 years of what Mother Theresa did to humanity is more worth than 2 or 3 years of Hitchens' research (if it even took that long). Just my 2 cents.

This thread is reflective of a welcome change from the time when not liking Jen's then-boyfriend would get you bashed as a loon. I remember a convo with another poster who noted she was called a loon because she didn't like John Mayer as Jen's boyfriend. Now Justin can be criticized and even ridiculed with relative freedom with just one Jenloon breaking up the party and one fan expressing her opposition. And the thread can delve into declarations of loves for other male celebrities in fun.

No! Russell Brand?! Oh no you can't be talking seriously? What an horrible taste in men you have. Are you the one who admits, on the first page, that you have as bad taste in men?

If she declares her love for Charlie Sheen or Floyd Merryweather then she doesn't have to be that poster who confessed to bad taste. Her choices will put her in couple rehab pronto.

I have heard that Mother Teresa could be a nasty piece of work, but she was human and obviously exhausted much of the time. Plus the woman was a nun, getting none, and I'd get pissed off too sometimes if that were me. She undeniably did good works, I think we can all agree on that? I think her problem was mainly with the Church, she apparently became very disillusioned with the Vatican and its riches and what some may call hypocrisy. I am a recovering Catholic myself - I too am ashamed of the scandals which surround the Church and its clergy; the Pope himself covering things up. But, let us not argue over this, I know how close personal religion is to people's hearts and fully respect their faith.

We could find "dirt" on the Dalai Lama if we looked hard enough. No one is perfect, we're all flawed. In my mind, it's that we keep trying to help, which matters.

Been there, done that and don't want to go back.

Hey he was very young then. I myself purposely avoid posting pics of Hugh Grant when he was young & handsome not to be accused of cheating like loons do when they post 2005 pics of Jolie...

Girl, you're doomed.

He's all right I guess. Somebody says, the real character of the man you married will be shown after you're divorced (or something like that). The way he treats Katy... I'd take Russell over Brad any time! Hey, he even has the same hair like Brian!
