And since The Changling she has the idea she is a director. Even Pitt and she admitted she will be a nightmare to work with because of that erroneous perception they bought her. She will point out her awards and how she has more experience than the first time director who will do this movie if it is filmed and use all the other OTT typical JoLie ploys to get attention and control .

Oh, but directing is so easy! All you have to do is point the camera in the general vicinity of the actors and hit "record." Jolie says she doesn't understand the fuss, and I believe her! Of course, she stole someone else's story to pass off as her own in an attempt to obtain this silly little director's credit, and even then managed to fail miserably, but the critics who panned the film -- and the millions of people who ignored it -- are just jealous haterz.

Oh...yea..and the writing the whole script was easy as pie, just 2 days, stuck in an attic, with the flu.....or in Shiloh's art class, or when the kids were running around the kitchen....she pumped that baby out in months....yanno, cause she's such a great mom and writer.....

ITLOBAH has been on DVD, since March 27th, and yet absolutely NO numbers from the sales of it has been recorded......Usually on the web-site "The Numbers", has listings for all the DVD sales...and yet Jolie's little movie didn't even spark enough sales to record it...and it is now in the 5.00 bin at Walmart's.

Hmm, that's odd. The loons swore Jolie had millions upon millions of fans, it's just that none of them lived in any of the cities that her flop was screened. But now that the film is available to everyone, still nothing? That just doesn't make any sense!

I guess you haven't been updated on the stellar co-stars that have already signed on for Maleficent, it should be fantastic, and I love the casting of Miranda Richardson as Maleficent's Aunt, she will be great as Angie's adversary.

So basically this film's biggest star is Jolie? Bad, bad move there, Disney! Numbers don't lie. Jolie simply cannot bring in the money needed. I'm assuming they are planning on giving a big budget for this film. I hope they are prepared to lose it.

Who's in charge at Disney? Because whoever it is are making some horrible decisions. They've already lost millions from John Carter and they cast an actress who doesn't bring the money, was recently ridiculed all over and whose "engagement" announcement left a mere "meh" response?

Imelda Staunton, Miranda Richardson Joining Angelina Jolie in 'Maleficent' (Exclusive)

Kenneth Cranham, Sam Riley and Lesley Manville also are joining the fantasy film.

Maleficent is adding a strong English lineup to its cast.

Veteran actresses Imelda Staunton and Miranda Richardson are joining Maleficent, Disney’s live-action retelling of the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale that stars Angelina Jolie.

Also boarding the production, being directed by Robert Stromberg, are Kenneth Cranham (Made in Dagenham), Sam Riley (Brighton Rock) and Lesley Manville (Another Year).

Jolie is playing the title character in the project that tells the fairy tale from the point of view of the witch that cursed Aurora to a permanent sleep on her 16th birthday.

Elle Fanning already is on board as Aurora, and Sharlto Copley is Stefan, the half-human, half-fairy b***** son of the human king.

Staunton and Manville are playing Knotgrass and Flittle, respectively, two of the three pixies who end up taking care of Aurora. (They were fairies in the original tales.)

Richardson will play Queen Ulla, a fairy queen who is Maleficent’s aunt -- and dislikes her niece.

Cranham will play the human king who plots to conquer the fairy kingdom.

Riley takes the role of Diaval, a raven who changes into human form and is Maleficent’s right hand.

Staunton, repped by Paradigm and the U.K.’s Artists Rights Group, might be best known to American audiences as Dolores Umbridge in the Harry Potter movies. She also starred in 2004’s Vera Drake, which garnered her an Oscar nomination.

Richardson, a two-time Oscar nominee, played Rita Skeeter in the Harry Potter movies and appeared in AMC’s short-lived series Rubicon. She is repped by Parseghian Planco and the U.K.’s Independent Talent Group.

Imelda Staunton, Miranda Richardson, Sam Riley & Lesley Manville Join 'Maleficent' With Angelina Jolie

With cameras set to roll this summer, "Maleficent" is moving fast, and after adding Sharlto Copley last week, it has bolstered the cast with some more, mostly British names.

THR reports that Imelda Staunton ("Vera Drake," "Alice In Wonderland"), Miranda Richardson (legend, you should already know), Sam Riley ("Control," "On The Road"), Lesley Manville ("Another Year") and Kenneth Cranham ("Made In Dagenham," "Valkyrie") have all come aboard the Angelina Jolie fairy tale vehicle. The live-action film will explore the origins of the evil fairy Maleficent and what led her to curse Princess Aurora in Disney’s animated classic "Sleeping Beauty." And though her name seems to have appearing/disappearing in reports from the trades on the movie, it looks like Elle Fanning is on board, so there you go. So yes, it's another revisionist fairy tale movie, but this cast isn't one to sneeze at.

Mike Leigh veterans Staunton and Manville will pair up to play pixies Knotgrass and Flittle, who care for Aurora. Richardson will play Maleficent's aunt Queen Ella, who doesn't particularly care for her niece, while the boys Cranham and Riley will play, respectively, a human king who plots to conquer the fairy kingdom and Diaval, a raven who can change into human form, and is Maleficent's right hand man. So yeah, sounds like this one will be epic in scope and have a shitload of special effects.

That's probably why we're not going to see the movie until March 14, 2014. But that will give plenty of time to first time director/Oscar winning production designer Robert Stromberg to get it right.

Imelda Staunton, Miranda Richardson, Sam Riley, and More Board ‘Maleficent’

Though Maleficent‘s three leads hail from the States (Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning) and South Africa (Sharlto Copley), the Disney production is looking to the U.K. to fill up much of its cast list. American India Eisley and Brits Imelda Staunton, Miranda Richardson, Lesley Manville, Kenneth Cranham, and Sam Riley have all just boarded the Robert Stromberg-directed live-action film, which retells the classic Sleeping Beauty tale from the perspective of its villain. The descriptions of their roles also happen to offer quite a few more clues about the movie’s plotline, so hit the jump for more details.

As previously reported, Fanning is signed on to play the slumbering teenage princess opposite Jolie’s Maleficent, while Copley is set to play her father King Stefan. Interestingly, the latest story from THR expands upon Stefan’s background by describing him as “the half-human, half-fairy b***** son of the human king.” Said human king, who tries to take over the fairy kingdom, will be played by Cranham (Layer Cake, Hellbound: Hellraiser II).

Over in fairy land, Richardson is set for the part of Queen Ulla, who has a less than peachy relationship with her niece Maleficent. Veteran actress Richardson is a two-time Academy Award nominee for her work in Damage and Tom & Viv, and was last seen on the big screen as Rita Skeeter in the Harry Potter films.

Eisley, who is best known for playing Shailene Woodley’s sister on ABC Family’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager, will appear in the opening act of Maleficent as a younger version of Jolie’s character, establishing her place in the fairy kingdom’s hierarchy.

Staunton and Manville, meanwhile, will play Knotgrass and Flittle. They comprise two of the three pixies (fairies in Disney’s 1959 animated film) who take care of Aurora. Staunton can currently be heard in Aardman Animations’ The Pirates! Band of Misfits, while Lesley Manville’s recent credits include Benedek Fliegauf’s Womb and Mike Leigh’s Another Year.

Finally, Riley has been cast as Diaval, Maleficent’s right-hand man — or rather, right-hand raven who can take human male form. The rising star first broke out in 2007 with Anton Corbijn’s Control, and will next star in Neil Jordan’s Byzantium and Walter Salles’ On the Road (whenever that hits theaters).

We’ve been curious to see exactly how Maleficent would spin the Sleeping Beauty story, and based on these casting announcements it appears the conflict between Maleficent and Stefan/Aurora will somehow be tied into a struggle between the fairy and human kingdoms. Disney’s sure to reveal more as the summer start date nears, but whatever the storyline winds up being, it’s clear that it’ll have a fantastic cast backing it up. Maleficent will make its way into theaters March 14, 2014.

I wonder how much screen time Jolie will actually have.

So basically they had to reach across the "pond" for an all British cast, because not one Hollywood actor or actress was willing to star in this movie. Ok, got it.

I'm not a Brit so I can't speak for this crew's popularity in their own country......but not one of these actors, very respected though some may be, I'll never deny that.....IMO, has the ability to put asses in the seats. I've never thought ...hmmm, Miranda Richardson or Imelda Staunton has a movie coming out this weekend, I've just got to put out $10.50 for a ticket and $5.50+tx for a small popcorn. :hand:
Jolie was laughed at world wide because she is disliked by the majority. Her loons are highly objectionable and irritate and aggravate that dislike into higher levels. No one so far associated with this film has enough power or following to counter that revulsion to Jolie.

Plenty. The story is being told from her perspective. She will be the main character. The young actress gets to play Maleficient in a flashback of something she was told as a child. And then something the aunt who does not like her witnessed her do as a child.

It's a fricken family movie. It isn't anything EPIC, like Jolie thinks this woman/film is...and with other family fare movies being released the same weekend or following weekends.....it has competition....with Mr. Peabody and Sherman (animated) is just one that is opening the same weekend. Mirror, Mirror, that had absolutely no competition in the family genre, flopped at the box office.....I see this movie having one good opening weekend, probably around the 20 million mark, and then dropping off the following weekends. Just like Mirror Mirror. It will play stronger in the UK, with the list of actors/actresses there, but it won't do that great in other int'l markets. I will bet it will gross about 60 million here in the USA. Probably close or over 100 million int'l. Disney will lose money on this project. Head will roll just like it did with John Carter.

Here is a listing so far for 2014
