Cerazette

Postby So sad » Fri Aug 04, 2006 9:54 am

Hi,

I think ive been having every side effect that you could possibly have with cerazette. Headaches, acne although i never suffered this before. Facial hair growing on the chin and neck. Also have dark hairs growing around breasts and tummy. I get very bad mood swings on this pill. I used to be such a happy go lucky person, i rarely got bothered about things. On cerazette i am so sensitive, agressive and angry all the time. My head fells like im constantly confused and i have been on this pill for about 7 months now. I do get bleeding but just spotting when i get to the end of my pill packet which last a max of 2 days. I am coming off this soon and getting the coil fitted as none of this contraceptive things agree with me. Ive had them all but i can clearly say this is the worst. It is affecting my relashionship aswell as making me very depressed. Dont want to get pregnanat so am going to grin and bare it for another 2 weeks. Hope my relashionship last it and that everything starts to get better once i stop.
So sad

I was the monster from hell on that stuff. Even my little 4 yr old caught the brunt of my snappy moods i also got access hair and felt crap every day for 3 weeks it was just a vicious cycle.
So glad i decided to come off it, my head is clear and i'm not anxious at all on it.

Does anybody know how long cerezette takes to leave your system? I've decided to stop taking this pill today as my moods are getting worse and worse now. Just want to start feeling better. Im assuming its going to take at least a week to notice any difference.

Cerezette mini pill

Postby toni319 » Fri Aug 25, 2006 11:07 am

I came off cerezette three months ago after suffering from terrible mood swings, anxiety attacks and acne. I also stopped having periods almost as soon as I started taking it.

All of the side effects stopped immediately but my periods still have not returned. Can anyone tell me how long it takes on average for everything to get back to normal?

May husband and I are hoping to start a family soon.

I'm so teary

Postby Laura-Lou » Sat May 19, 2007 3:08 pm

Hi there,
I would just like to add that i also am having problems with taking cerazette. I have been getting hideous headaches all the time, been very teary and depressed, have had a few blemishes, and i had an anxiety attack, which i have had for many years, and i'm taking anti-depressants for, but they didn't help me this time!
What a hideous pill! And the doctors say it can help with PMT ! What a load of contrived rubbish!

Just to give the opposite view, I started Cerazette in January and have had no side effects at all, and only one period with minimal PMT. I guess it's just down to what suits you as an individual- we're all different :)

Hi there. I have just read your comments with regards to Cerzette and your possible hesitiations after what your doc and friends have said. I can assure you that after being on this myself for 9 months that i have had no side effects. I too am 5' 2 and weight 8 8 and i have seen no weight gain what so ever. I think these pills regardless of which one you choose are either right or wrong for you and we can only know this by trying them. Good luck

i am using the same pill and i have found that i have never stopped bleeding at all since three months ago when i started... i tryed to perswade myself that it was my body getting used to the pill but now im not so sure!! i havent gained any weight and havent any mood swings or acne... but obviously this tablet isnt for me!! i also found that microgirion tablets made my headaches worse and mood swings unbearable.

I've been on Cerazette for 5 months and had no problems for the first 3, but since then I have started to suffer with bad acne/cystic spots, mood swings and depression, and noticed some hairs growing on my chin. I had no periods at all until last week, when I had heavy bleeding for 1 day, then it stopped.

I'm sure Cerazette works for some people but I'm coming off it ASAP!

I do suffer from some facial hair as I have PCOS (polycystic ovarys) but this is so much worse now I am on Cerazette. I have also had awful acne. This started as a few blemishes and this month really erupted. Before taking this pill I had clear skin all the time.
I have had mood swings and have been so teary. I am seeing my doctor next week to come off this awful drug and I can't wait to do so as I feel so miserble.
I am so glad that I read this as I have already spoken to a doctor and was made to feel like this was just me and not the pill at all. :(

I have a question for everyone who has had problems with Cerazette: what other contraceptive did you change to or found had the least side effects?

I've been on it for 6 weeks and it's been hell. I have turned into ah! One minute I'm hyperactive, the next I'm sobbing! Not to mention my vision randomly blurring (driving is fun..) and chest pain :-S I didn't use any contraception other than condoms before taking Cerazette and it's kind of put me off hormonal contraception, but if anyone has had similar effects and changed to something else and found it better then I'd be really really grateful if you could could let me know what so I can try it!

I am coming off Cerazette this week, but I'd still like to find something else with less horrible side effects.

Thankyou!! xxxx

I am also wondering what other pills you can take.

I mentioned to the Doctor about having migraines and she said I could no longer take the combined pill Mercilon even though I had taken it for years! I have been taking Cerezette for just under a year and have recently noticed a definate increase in hair on my upper lip, I am finding it extremely embarassing and think I am going to have to resort to waxing or something. Today I decided to do some research on the Cerezette and until I found this site I didnt even realise the hair and the pill could be linked. I thought Cerezette was great at first - no horrible period- but now I have read alot of posts I am linking other side effects to it, especially things I have put to the back of my mind as it's not stuff you really talk about! I have never had bad spots and I suppose they are not bad now but they have definately increased and I am getting them on my back somewhere I have NEVER had them before! Also I mentioned the spots to my doctor and she brushed me off saying 'I doubt it's the Cerezette that one is more associated with lesseing acne' Please let me know if you have found any solutions that are still a Mini Pill. Thanks x
