WWZ at a stand still, studio wants a better ending

http://www.reelz.com/movie-news/14230/m ... zs-ending/

Back in January, stars Brad Pitt and Mireille Enos were talking about World War Z as if it was the start of a trilogy, but, months later, the movie was pushed from December to June 21, 2013, giving time for director Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace) to engage in seven weeks of reshoots. Paramount president Adam Goodman told The Hollywood Reporter in June that "the footage from this film looks fantastic, but we all agreed it can have a better ending," prompting the studio to bring in screenwriter Damon Lindelof (Lost, Prometheus) to help rewrite the end of World War Z. While Lindelof reportedly helped figure out a new ending (which, considering the source, means there won't be an ending), another writer was brought in to pen the script and another writer might now follow, as well.
According to Deadline, fellow Lost writer Drew Goddard did the actual scripting for World War Z as Lindelof didn't have enough time. Goddard is no stranger to disaster movies and the horror genre, having written Cloverfield and Steven Spielberg's upcoming Robopocalypse. Still, Paramount may not be done bringing in writers, with the possibility of Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects, Jack Reacher) stepping in to punch up the ending if he has time.
There seems to be no start date for the re-shoots, which will incorporate the new ending, though September/October has been mentioned as a possibility previously.

So Pitt is probably somewhere in a deep depression waiting and afraid about getting any return on his investment.
With Cruise's recent bad media, they can't afford to risk it on two shaky stars.

How much money are they going to put into this after the gun raid scandal? Fans of the book don't even want to see it.

They obsessed with Brad movie so much that it is scary. They have a year to do as they want it. All will be great peace.

Not only not getting a return on his investment but there is also the loss or maybe sanctions against him or Plan B because of the weaponsgate fiasco? How does Hollywood work it if it was Plan B's responsibility for the work stoppage or delays and those expenes because of that 'error'. Filming was stopped until everything was straightened out? And until Pitt was released?

Blast from the Past....That was pretty hilarious with Jolie jumping on the jet out of the country on an unscheduled fauxhumani mission leaving Pitt when weaponsgate occurred..

That's right they didn't go back to shooting after the gun raid did they? This could be the end of Plan B.

If the guns were her idea and he looses all that money, I doubt they will survive that. We can expect huge promotion of donations while she promotes Malelice or whatever it's called. She may even be forced to do talk shows. Oh, the horror.

To many hands in the pot ruins the soup.

Sounds like they are having trouble with getting a screen-writer to do the ending that satisfies Paramount.

Hey here's a thought! They should get Jolie to re-write it, she probably could pop that baby out in 2 days time!

Yes they went back to shooting. It's just that most of the Hungary shooting was indoors.

Her do TV talk shows? NEVAH. She'll go on Anderson Cooper, Charlie Rose, etc to talk about the EPIC woman Maleficent........TV talk shows are to beneath her...... Spontaneous questions fromTV talk show hosts, won't do.....she likes it where the questions are sent to her before her appearance so she can rehearse her answers.

Cooper and those high end interviewers will not be willing to make time for anyone that is no longer important. It risks their own importance to do so. It's a cut throat world, though all smiley faces on the screen. Currently, she is still being selective, but the signs of desperation are there, just cleverly covered up... like weaponsgate.

When Cooper et al., finally blows her off, and her photoops do not sell anymore, do you think she can stay out of limelight? That is the question.

Her fully immobilized face will only make it to freak shows and low end talk hosts then...IMO she will need the money for her next face fillers, and at that point of desperation, she would even go on Hollywood Squares if it was still airing!

It may be his Ishtar. One difference: Hoffman and Beatty were much younger and able to overcome their bomb.
