Wax Pain and Red

After many years I have finally plucked up the courage to book to have my legs and eyebrows waxed on Friday. Two questions really...are my eyes likely to look like chicken skin after the event, and how often do you end up needing your eyebrows re-doing.
AND, not thinking straight I shaved my legs on Saturday night as I was off out, totally forgetting about impending waxing...how long does the hair have to be to be successfully waxed.
Sorry if these questions are a little naive....just thought this place was the best place to ask

I've only ever waxed my legs once and I did it myself. I think it has to be about 1/2 a cm long or so for the wax to grab it. It hurts like a bugger tho!! And I had red dots where every hair came out for quite some time after. A couple of days actually. And when it grew back I had to loofah quite a lot because the hairs weren't breaking thru the top layer of skin. I even had to pick at some with a straight pin to get them to come thru. Not much fun and I've gone back to shaving now. I still wax my bikini line, my upper lip and sometimes my arm pits (pits hurt like the blazes but the hair stays away for a lot longer than anywhere else. Not sure why). I've always just plucked my eyebrows. I've a fear of them messing up and leaving me with only one eyebrow!
