Wedding cake

I need some serious help/ advice...

How mush does a nice but not too fancy wedding cake cost? We are looking at about 160 ppl at our wedding, and we really didn't want to spend more than £250. Our budget is not a lot. Any help is appreciated.

well am making my owen wedding cake cos we got a small budget too! we are making a fruit cake a chocolate sponge cake and another fruit cake and putting roll out icing on the top and just gonna but little figures to go on the top i did this for my sister who had about 150 guests there was plenty left and it cost about £25 to make
