Call me selfish and un noble all you like but my posts have been based on my boyfriends penis which he had done as a teen, his choice, he is not traumatised, he likes it and he even thinks its cleaner than before. Not based on all men getting it done. I am not advocating world wide circumcision. I dont think all babies should have it done as a matter of course. The clear result, from hundreds of replies here, and from the included survey, is that very few women prefer the natural dick (less than 10%). Since a man's dick also belongs to his woman, that makes a lot of sense, since she is also concerned about the health of the unit. That may be the reason so many British women emigrate to the USA where people are a little more advanced on this topic. The alternative in the UK (for a woman who prefers the circumcised dick) is to become a muslim since there's so few sanitized dicks amongst the native British male population. Except the question asked was a generic one about whether women preferred circumcised penises and was not referenced to adult men who choose to have it done. That is why the original question is an affront to men because it inherently ignores the child abuse which underpins 99% of circumcisions.

The fact that many women can be so blase and indifferent to the whole issue underscores the problem faced. It is so easy to claim that you are against butchering young boy's genitals after others discuss the abuse angle but why was this needed to be pointed out in the first place? After all you would think anyone contributing to a topic which has at its center child abuse, would carefully qualify their answers from the outset that they only support this as an adult choice.

The answer is people just don't think about the issue because circumcision on boys is condoned by society so no need to worry. We all need to raise people's awareness that this abuse should no longer be tolerated so that in future people might actually think about this topic and understand its seriousness before giving their answers.

This is why those who claim that this discussion does not belong to this thread are so, so wrong. This is exactly where it belongs because it confronts people's indifferent attitudes and makes them face up to the fact that they are tacitly approving child abuse to answer such a generic question with a blanket yes vote.
