It still looks like a ladies skirt to me. The whole idea of a man's skirt, is to enjoy the comfort that trousers fail to give, without looking feminine. My kilts look masculine and I would like a skirt that doesn't look feminine. Men need plenty of pocket space as I wouldn't be seen dead with a hand bag.
The main thing is that people are free to choose how they dress. Some of the mens skirts available now look much more masculine than the effeminate flowery cotton shorts that some of the young men wear on the street now.
