Surely a kilt is a type of skirt...so in effect men can wear skirts.

Och Aye! The Noo, the whole Noo and nothing but the Noo.

(You can also get men's denim (and other materials) fashion kilts that are not Scottish).

My denim kilt was made in Wales, Alf. My tartan one is real Scottish.
Just where they happen to build the factory that makes them. I hope the kilt factories are built with good BRICK.

Have a good day.

Re: Males in skirts

Hey people, I do it all the time! I'm a "GenderBender" and I love it. I wear my hair in a short male style, no wig and no makeup. I don't pretend to be a girl, couldn't pass if I wanted to! But, I do wear long and short skirts, woen's tops and femmy style shoes.
Usually with white girl's turned down socks, sometimes with hose, depending on where I'm going. I do shave my legs and arms and use tanning lotion year round. My favorite skirt is an ankle length denim number with no decoration, just like jeans, but a long fairly narrow skirt. I've sewed up the side split to make it tighter. This is my "workhorse"! I also have several other long ones, full and straight along with a number of knee length denim ones and a few cotton canvass (sort of cargo) styles. Even have a couple denim minis! I have not owned a pair of pants (trousers in the UK),
in 15 years! Point is, folks don't really care! I'm not indecent nor pushing the envelope on modesty, nor am I flamboyant. I just wear skirts as I would pants! If anyone notices, and I'm sure many do, they usually say nothing and don't really even react. The few who mention it are almost invariably complimentary. More women mention it than men. I wear speedo shorts or regular underware with them, in case you wondered. By
the way, no police officers have ever stopped me for my clothing (In most areas of this country crossdressing is NOT illegal), and the few times I have been involved in any way with security guards or policemen (or policewomen) like auto accidents or someone bothering me or following me (very rare), the officers have not even commented on my dress, let alone threatened to do anything because of it. My skirts are all regular "women's" styles, not the so-called MUGS and such crap. No such thing as "men's skirts anymore than there are really women's skirts! They belong to whoever wears them. I'e even got a couple long ones now which I have made so tight they are really hobbleskirts! They only give me about 10" or so of stride and I love 'em! Yea, it does attract noticable attention, but still, no rude behavior. Why do it? Why not? Some of us guys like the attention, embarassment and restricted/dependent feeling in a tight skirt just like a lot of gals do. What's wrong with that? Don't be slaves to tradition or society's mores, as long as you're not obscene, immoral or violating some law, you are fine in following your desires.

Guest wrote:yes - men CAN wear skirts! they just have to be suitable - if you go out in a pink mini your going to get laughed at.....pick something suitable and your be fine. the number of men wearing skirts here is increasing.....i see a couple a week and most of them look good! go do it.....set the trend in your area! it will soon catch on. a lot of blokes in my experience wear skirts - just not out in public. once these guys see you and others out they will soon follow suit!

Hello, femmyboy.

I admire you for presenting the image you do. I'm glad that you get complimentary remarks on your clothing, because you sound to me as if it's obvious that you're a guy in a skirt, and that might have attracted hostile reaction.

I like long denim skirts, too. Now that the weather's getting colder, I wear heavier fabrics more, so I often wear my favourite long denim skirt. This has the advantages of jeans: pockets, and belt loops (I wear it with a "masculine" belt), without the disadvantage of discomfort in the crotch area.

You say that you wear your hair in a short male style. Is that because you like short hair anyway, or because you want to avoid female hairstyles?
I love flared skirts, flowing skirts, flounced skirts, even tight skirts, but always long skirts.
