What would happen if in employment, there was a choice of trousers or skirts (but gender is not stated).

If a man was to wear a smart knee-length black skirt, would he be asked to change, or worse still be dismissed. Could a case for unfair dismissal be warranted (assuming that the employees standard of performance was perfectly acceptable)?

I sometimes wear a kilt to work and it seems to be accepted, although a kilt is only one type of skirt-like garment. I often wear any of my three kilts to church and that is well accepted, in the context that I was confronted some years ago about wearing shorts to the same church.
I still think that men have to fight for equality in dress code. Trade Unions could help in some larger workplaces although I work for a small non-union company.

Just to take Sky's point about the cost of kilts, that is a form of sex discrimination in itself.
God bless from Colin.

Neil Armstrong did

Yes, I know, Alf. Lots of people once believed that men would never travel to the moon, just as some believe that men will never wear skirts.

U best ask them that reckon they wear em.

There's me in one of my three kilts in my avatar (Blue Denim). Kilts / skirts are more comfortable than trousers and men should have the right to choose what they wear. My other two kilts are Scottish National tartan and Black Isles tartan.
God bless from Colin.

So Alf,

What does it feel like to wear a skirt then?
(as you are so obsessed with this thread, I assume you wear skirts a lot)

Where are all your skirt pictures then? You all claim to wear one so prove it. Alf Huckom has been asking you all for a good while now and you don't seem to be responding in the correct manner. (Alf Huckom has been asking for about 73 pages in fact)

Skirts are just an article of clothing. They can be and are worn by anyone who is comfortable wearing them, both men and women.

Other people should not have the power or ability to tell others what to wear - do not give them that power. Be yourself, be happy, be comfortable, and don't worry about others.

To both men and women, clothing is just that - no article of clothing determines your sex or sexual preference - and it should not be somethng bullies can label you from. Clothing should make you comfortable, not empower someone else.

FACT - both men and women can and do wear pants, skirts, shorts, tights, and all other articles of clothing. It should make them - not others comfortable.
