WIN: John Lennon's Jukebox
ENDS: 2nd April 2004
A few years ago, a portable jukebox was discovered which belonged to John Lennon in the 1960s...
The jukebox contained some 40 records - Soul, R&B and Rock & Roll - written in Lennon's own handwriting. These are some of the songs which went some way in shaping Lennon's musical education and they reveal some of the original sources of inspiration for his later songwriting.
Some of the artists and songs which feature on this double CD include Smokey Robinson & The Miracles - The Tracks of My Tears, Bob Dylan - Positively 4th Street, Little Richard - Long Tall Sally, Gene Vincent - Be-Bop-A-Lula and Wilson Pickett - In The Midnight Hour.
