Just to see if there is a problem with the drive...

Click START->Run...

<a black command dialog appears>

Type c: <HIT RETURN>

Type md newfolder <HIT RETURN>

Type exit

Now in windows navigate to the C:\ Drive and see if there is a folder called newfolder on the disc.

Let me know how you get on...

Hi!

Just thought I'd add that httl://www.hitmanpro.nl is an excellent software that runs about 5 different spyware apps in one. One scanner alone rarely gets all the buggers, so download this one, it's awesome!

Btw, Windows Xp is full of glitches and problems so if nothing else helps, format for the win...

:)

Nope, but the most reliable one available for now.... :lol: I format every 2 or 3 months, and that's still with weekly defrags and spyware scans!

Going to be soooo interesting to see what Vista will be like... :P

Have you tried the Vista BETA?

So sloooooowwwww... though perhaps when the final code ships they will have optimised it.

Very pretty though! :wink:

Nope, haven't tried the BETA yet, but it does look UBER COOL :P In saying that though, I'd be happier if they could just give un an OS that works lol :roll: :D

I have here a mint copy of MS DOS 6.22 (on floppy discs), that worked very well... no problems with Virii, Trojans, Spyware there...

And ran quickly with a small memory footprint!

:lol:

Other than a Game & Watch, but that is even more before your time I expect!

no black command dialog. a small box entitled "Run" which says "type the name of a program, folder, document or Internet resource, and Windows will open it for you".
