I doubt it. China's culture is generally prohibitive of creativity and innovation. Prohibitive might be the wrong word; it certainly is not conducive to the type of innovative thought that drives technological economies. In school most kids in China memorize facts. India has more potential as a knowledge economy. I would not put much stock into this notion of "American decline." We've been in decline only since Little Georgie took the big chair. We'll come back. America will always be one of the big players, if not the biggest.

Your "Little Georgie" comment betrays an ignorance that discredits everything you say, on this or any other subject.

How exactly has America "been in decline" since George W. Bush took office in January 2001?

Not economically: the American economy has grown at a healthy clip every year since Bush took office; unemployment is low; inflation is low; interest rates are low; the Dow Jones is at an all-time high; and America has by far the highest GDP in the world.

Not militarily: the American military remains the most powerfuil in the world.

So how exactly has America "been in decline" since George W. Bush took office in January 2001?

Idiot.

Sorry lad, but you're the idiot. Bush and the Republican Congress have run up a massive debt, nearly 9 trillions dollars! Double what it was when Clinton left office with a balanced budget, a surplus in fact. That's the explanation for your economic figures -- they're falsehoods when taken in context of a country going ever deeper into the red. That's why our currency is worth little more than half the British pound. I'm not going to waste my time listing all the creative ways Bush has half flushed our country down the toilet. It's obvious to anyone who's mind is not muddled with ideology. But just to shut your gob in your next reply, how about two major wars for starters -- that we're losing -- at 3 billion dollars a week, $440 billion total -- the terrorist are laughing at us, they're winning! Money that could be spent on a more rational foreign and national security policy. Or a loss of American life in those wars equivalent to the 9/11 attacks -- the stated motivation for our "war on terror." Katrina? Half our southern seaboard was washed away for christ's sake! I haven't even mentioned our social or intellectual decline, or the loss of respect and influence (diplomatic or otherwise) around the world, which again is obvious to any keen impartial observer.

So shithead, getting back to the main point, you for one have nothing to worry about China and India. We should keep Bush in for two more terms! Let's make it a lifetime presidency and really watch America soar!

Thanks for making me waste my time you, you moron.

If the terrorists are "winning," why has there not been a terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11?

The budget deficit incident to the wars -- which were authorized by overwhelming bipartisan majorities in Congress -- is temporary.

So Bush is to blame for Katrina?

Where's your tinfoil hat?

It didn't take much to refute the underwhelming anti-Bush talking points to you spewed.

i haven't been part of this discussion, nor do i care to join in to a political debate. i've read enough of your posts in the past to know your way of thinking and you don't qualify as an impartial observer. from those posts it's clear you think predominately with the right side of your brain, and therefore predictably you have a strong tendency towards being a liberal when it comes to politics.

No Irish doesn't you pigheaded FoxNews freak! Why don't you watch "Outfoxed" and then you'll see how much neo-con propaganda you've been sucking up these last 6 years.

You ignorant ideologue.

ultra confident guy ...small penis

Postby ZiaAries on Mon Jan 01, 2007 5:50 am

is ultra confident the same as a macho he-man guy?

if he was an ultra turn on for me...it would be awesome if he had a small penis. I think they are cute, fun to play with...and they fit too.

I failed to notice...somehow this tread turned penis size into politics, military and world power.

From this woman's point of view:
I Rest My Case.

Testosterone doesn't substitute for intelligence.

a small penis is cute! easy to savor and have fun with for a longgg time. :P

You seem to be an expert on me whoever you are. Or you think so anyway.

I'm an impartial observer by training. But it's a fair point you make about impartiality and politics. I thought of it right after I posted it. Politics can only be objective to a point until a value judgment comes in (e.g. which is more important: the rights and benefits of the rich vs the rights and benefits of all). On the whole I am partial to the leftist or liberal narrative because it's more often based on reason and fact, whereas right-wing politics tends to be based on ideology. Moroever I tend to hold "liberal" values such as social equality. That said, if presented with a more compelling argument, based on facts not ideology, I'm likely to change my views. Are you? How about some of these other "right-wingers"?

. wrote:Thank you for confirming what I considered self-evident, namely that Irish Rover is a leftist with an agenda.

There is nothing wrong with expressing opinions that reflect an agenda.

My objection is to the dishonest practice of misrepresenting opinions that reflect an agenda as statements of established fact -- which is what Irish Rover does.

Sorry to blow your whole phsychological construct of me, but I have no agenda, unless you consider truth an agenda. And I very rarely, if ever, express opinions in arguments. I'm interested in facts and logic.

And I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't parade around spewing blanket statements of "what Irish Rover does." You know only a microscopic fraction about me. That's dishonest and arrogant. Now can we stop talking about me and get back to the discussion at hand? I'm fed up talking about me, it's egotistical.

Rodent. Very clever.

Good night guests, you're all very witty and entertaining but I hope to see you another day. Perhaps you will have evolved in that time.
