If you take the time to truly watch the show get past the funny stupid things you will see it is more then just Homer being an idiot. He is conflicted constantly through making the right choice or the easy choice. He cherishes his family, and it often depicts what a family may go through in times of conflict [albiet to an extreme]. What the simpsons is, is a Satire. So if anything a show such as this can easily stimulate a mind.

Try again dee.

Are you taking this seriously ?

What it lacks is conventional teaching which we associate everyday.

Lets not get too carried away with Homer Simpson. The show is a mainstream American cartoon sit com. It is based on an ideology and morality that suits its market - pulp morality and pulp values and it markets successfully because of it. Its comfortable for most, but pretty obvious and unchallenging.

... but then there's South Park...

Now, apart from Homer's intellectual challenges, what's this got to do with the thread or has it been :gah:

I used the simpsons as an example. My point was it could be useful for such a satire to stimulate young minds into thinking between the lines. Kinda of breaking away from the literal sense of things...like some guests are doing...

Just because men are better in something? That's just pathetic man, you are all weak.

A difference of 5 IQ points is definately something to get worked up over.

Actually it's more like 3.63...... :P

Meh, South Park's sense of moral sensory overload is about as mainstream as shows can get now a days.

Actually I just had my IQ tested recently. Came out as 122 and 129 on two separate tests. I'm pretty happy with that, although in high school it was closer to 140.
