The United States uses SD-15 or SD-16 scale, meaning that one standard deviation corresponds to ±16 points on the IQ scale. However, European IQ tests tend to use a SD-24 or SD-25 scale, resulting in discrepancies. Therefore, an IQ of 130 (+2 standard deviations) in the U.S. might correspond to an IQ of 148-150 in Europe. Due to these differences, percentiles are more accurate measurements than IQ numbers.

The numbers are well within the margin of error. I suggest that you find something else to base your arguement on. Plus, I would be quite interested to know where you got your data from.

Right you are. But the study reported such percentages, which were more telling. I didn't state them because people sometimes have a hard time understanding percentages of percentiles. There were some women who ranked in the top percentile of the Intelligence Quotience measurements. Men, however, also represent the highest percentile of the highest range in IQ. 83% of women scored within the 40th percentile. In contrast, 87% of men scored within the 94 percentile and over 99% of the top 2 percentile were men. All international differences were accounted for to address the quantitative differences you mentioned.

Now this is not to say that there are not female geniues; there are. They are just extraodinarily rare and account for a very very small minority of those in the 98-100 top percentile range. Moreover, more men than women populate the intermediate to higher percentile ranges as well.

This is not to say that women are dumb or dumber but that more men than women are among the more intelligent of the population.
