This comes from a latest compiled national IQ reporting around the world. The average male IQ was reported as 108; the average female IQ only 103.

It's what we all knew: men are smarter than women.

I doubt the accuracy of this statistic. Come on 68%?

68%?

It's got to be more like 90%.

There are a lot of factors that need to be considered for such a statistic. Such as the location in which these tests are being taken, how many people were used, standard educational level comparison, and so on.

Also, you also have to take into account that if you are using this for a "worldly" comparison that different IQ tests are used depending on where you are located. The United States uses SD-15 or SD-16 scale, meaning that one standard deviation corresponds to ±16 points on the IQ scale. However, European IQ tests tend to use a SD-24 or SD-25 scale, resulting in discrepancies. Therefore, an IQ of 130 (+2 standard deviations) in the U.S. might correspond to an IQ of 148-150 in Europe. Due to these differences, percentiles are more accurate measurements than IQ numbers.

The numbers are well within the margin of error. I suggest that you find something else to base your arguement on. Plus, I would be quite interested to know where you got your data from.

On the average and all the factors you mention being considered, men have higher IQ's than women worldwide.

Live with it.

Right you are. But the study reported such percentages, which were more telling. I didn't state them because people sometimes have a hard time understanding percentages of percentiles. There were some women who ranked in the top percentile of the Intelligence Quotience measurements. Men, however, also represent the highest percentile of the highest range in IQ. 83% of women scored within the 40th percentile. In contrast, 87% of men scored within the 94 percentile and over 99% of the top 2 percentile were men. All international differences were accounted for to address the quantitative differences you mentioned.

Now this is not to say that there are not female geniues; there are. They are just extraodinarily rare and account for a very very small minority of those in the 98-100 top percentile range. Moreover, more men than women populate the intermediate to higher percentile ranges as well.

This is not to say that women are dumb or dumber but that more men than women are among the more intelligent of the population.

Nah, who am I kidding... Women are more dumb. And now we got the proof to show what people all along knew.

That was a funny conclusion and unexpected twist, I must say. And a very revealing study!
