You women don't have penis' so you should not be able to say ANYTHING about men with foreskin.

I am a guy, and I love my foreskin, and couldn't imagine my penis any other way. It's people like you that make me feel ashamed for having foreskin, and feel like I should have it cut off just to make you happy.

WELL IT'S BULLSHIT AND I HATE YOU ALL FOR IT. HOW THE HELL WOULD YOU LIKE IT IF THERE WAS SOME PROCEDURE FOR WOMENS CLITORIS' TO BE MODIFIED SURGICALLY. OR SOME OTHER SORT OF SURGERY THAT INVOLVED YOUR PRIVATES TO BE CUT OR SLICED OR SOME CRAP, AND IF YOU DIDN'T DO IT GUYS WOULD THINK YOU WERE "GROSS". IT'S BULLSHIT AND I HOPE ANY FEMALES WHO SAY THIS DIE IN A HORRIBLE FIRE.

It's fine to have preference, but when you base your whole opinion of someone on the absence of this preference and even go as far as to say they're "gross", then you're just proving how much of a shallow bitch you are. You're just as bad as men who won't date women with small breasts, which by the way is also a pretty crappy and very shallow thing to do.

There actually is a procedure of female circumcision. The clitoral hood is cut off and other pieces. It has been practiced in the middle east for a long time. Of course middle east culture doesn't give the girl much of a choice, or anesthetic! The mothers, grandmothers, and female elders hold the girl down, while some hack with a knife does the deed. It is said to be excruciating. So food for thought for the ladies and gents.

That is not much different from the doctors who strap boys down and cut their foreskins off without anaesthetic.

To me, that is torture.

The least they could do is given some anaesthetic. I'm baffled why they don't. My wife is a GP and she can't understand what they are doing. Always ensure your child has an anaesthetic.

What does this got to do with the topic? Middle-easterns also cut off hands and feet for woman criminals and stone woman to death. What a retarded contribution.

I'm female, i'm pregnant with a male baby and here is my opinion

His foreskin will be left the F*** alone. I think circumsicion is stupid and unnecessary (unless for medical reasons) and I personally prefer penises WITH their foreskin still intact over cut ones (though I would not turn away a cut one either, if I was dating someone who had been circumsized)

Basically I think it can be likened to removing the eyelids, why on earth would you snip the protective cover over a sensitive organ?

Human's are thick.
i am female.

Huh? We're the ones telling yu to leave it alone, you're the bloodthirsty ones.
And we alll have our own opinions thankyou. Just none of us seem to want to see a baby in pain for absolutely no reason.

You know what's funny? Animals have to be placed under anaesthetic for procedures like this to happen. A bit twisted really.

Thats very misleading Colonel. My son had a general anaesthetic when he had his operation. Im pretty sure yours did too. Is it just babies who dont? I dont know so am curious as to why it would be done without even a local.

Polly, thanks for your question, I believe it is an area that can cause misunderstanding.

In answer to your question, Ryan did not have a general anaesthetic. He only had a local. A general anaesthetic is not necessary for the operation (though many find it easier - both patient and doctor).

In general, it is best to avoid general anaesthetics wherever possible - this is advice from my wife (who is a GP, member of the local PCT, and teaches at the local university). GA's can be dangerous, and with people who have never had them before (possibly like your son prior to his circumcision) they must be treated with extreme care. It is far from being uncommon to have a reaction to the anaesthetic.

As for babies - they cannot have a general anaesthetic, unless they absolutely need one (e.g. life threatening conditions). However, even in these cases one often isn't given (babies have had open heart surgery with local's - which is unbelievable). The risk of death for a general anaesthetic with a baby is phenomenal, and avoided like the plague.

The reason doctors don't even give local anaesthetic during most circumcisions is two fold:

1) There are risks associated with locals (though smaller than generals) and the risk of toxicity is a problem - and although rare, can sometimes be fatal unless the person is experienced.
2) The misguided belief that babies can't feel pain! (I am speechless at that belief). Some doctors believe that a baby's nerves aren't developed enough to feel pain and so - no need for any pain relief.

It is mostly 2) that is still the common belief in the US medical profession - even though the kid is screaming - they don't believe it's pain they are experiencing.

All of this information is on the internet. Feel free to look it up and ask any questions if you wish.

Thanks for that Colonel. I wasnt aware. Still doesnt change my position tho. I always said I didnt agree with wholesale circumcisions on babies just on boys or men thru their own choice or because of a medical reason. And because of this reason there is a choice. You have conceded that in my case I have a point, cant you see that there are thousands of other women also in my position? There are things that women do to themselves that might cause men to choose whether they prefer them natural or not. (Peircings, implants, cosmetic surgery). Is it wrong for a man to prefer the 'Pammy' look and deliberatly go for women with enhanced boobs? And dont forget, most of the time women dont know the man is circumcised until we sleep with them so we have already decided we like them enough to do that so our choice was made about the man prior to finding out that they had the snip. If they happen to have had the op and we prefer it, then thats a bonus really. But we dont choose the man because he had the snip. We find that out later. Men dont wear a sign you know! We cant tell just by looking at them (unless they imitate an elephant on the first date!)

I still do disagree Polly.

The point I am making is do you love your partner's penis because it is his or simply because it is circumcised? There is a great difference as I am sure you understand.

My wife (as I know) likes mine very much  but she loves it because it belongs to me, not because I am one way or the other (I won't say which).

I maintain it is the individual that counts, not their circumcision status. Even if you claim you prefer circumcised, there are for example different styles, methods and types all of which are very different. There are some with bad scarring, things called skin tags (which are hideous) and a variety of other things (such as whether the V shaped frenulum is intact/developed or missing/undeveloped on the underside of the head of the penis).

What I mean by the above, is that your partner's particular style (whatever that may be) may actually be what you believe to be your preference - which is almost certainly (at least in the UK) going to be different from others.

In the same way, uncircumcised men are different - different lengths of foreskin, some tight and some not, some not very clean others always clean, some that have been infected and others not, some that are soft and some that are manky - it is simply a case of individual differences.

These two points are what I am trying to make.

For example, does your partner's circumcision differ from your son's? (You may not wish to answer that, but it might help illustrate my meaning).

Yes, they do wear signs! Jewish and Muslim men are 100% circumcized. American men are 90% circumcized. East Europeans and Russians and Chinese are seldom circumcized (they also have the fastest increasing rates of HIV). They don't wear signs around ther necks, but every woman should be able discern this ionformation - it's important for her lifetime health.

You see, there's a long tradition in some faiths developed to help women with what they need to know. The Jewish or Muslim woman who marries within her faith never has to worry about phimosis, warts, or balinitis. The Christian faith, of course, is useless in this respect, so Christian women need to summon their courage to ASK! Here's a handy rule: no sex until you figure out if the boy is debt-free and has been circumcized :-)

The UK, and other advanced European nations have no such HIV, AIDS, STD or HPV problem. Our rates are VERY LOW. Among the LOWEST of ANY nation.

The United States has the HIGHEST rate in the West - about 20 TIMES the rate of infection in the UK after taking population size into account.

Now what does that tell you?

I also don't see many UK women with such health problems you claim?

If there was, the government would do something - we have a state funded health service.

It shows clearly, you don't work with facts or logic - just pure prejudice.

Ok. 2 points to answer.
First..The Colonel. Of course I am not with toyboy because of his willy. I didnt know he was circumcised till I slept with him. It was only after having sex with him (a fair bit) that I realised that I preferred his willy to an uncut version. But if he wasnt circumcised I wouldnt have dumped him! Its like you sleeping with your wife for the first time and realising that she had her labia pierced. Are you saying that you cant prefer it to another womans bits because of how it looks? Of course you can. But you dont pick your partner because of something they have done to themselves but if they have something you prefer then thats good. So, to sum up, no I dont prefer toyboys willy just because it is circumcised, I love him and it is just one part of him. But because it is different to other willies, then yes, I have an opinion.

Second..Emily B. In England they dont wear signs. We dont have an obvious Jewish community and to be honest I cant tell a jewish bloke from a christian one unless he is wearing a skull cap and says muzeltof! (Yes I am sure I spelt that wrong!) So the first time I know he is circumcised is when I sleep with him. And Im sorry, but asking a bloke before I sleep with him is not something I would do because, as I have been trying to get across, I am not with a bloke cos of him being cut or not. Its just a bonus (in my view) if he is. I seriously cannot imagine asking any new potential partners if they are circumcised or not and then telling them that I am not interested in carrying on the relationship if he isnt! That is shallow and I am not there yet!

P.S. Congrats on the twins news Colonel!
