I go running and cycling and I wear lycra sports tights for these in public. It's great!

When I enter races it's great mingling with other athletes prior to the race, particularly women who are also wearing tights like me! Quite liberating!!

I have worn pantyhose almost since high school. I wore them during football and weightlifting. I hurt my knee my junior year, and wearing them also helped keep the knee loose during rehab. Once I got out in the "real world" I sat at a desk for 9 hours a day. By the time I'd go home, my legs and especially my knee would be tight and uncomfortable to downright painful. But I couldn't wear pantyhose out in the real world, right? Finally, it got to the point that I got tired of coming home and sitting with an icepak on my knee for the better part of the night. So I started wearing pantyhose to work. No big deal, I normally wore jeans. But when summer rolled around, I had to decide between wearing shorts and going home sore, or wearing jeans and hose and being overly warm all day. So, I put on my hose and a pair of shorts and went to work. No one said a word. On rare occasion, someone will stop me and ask...and I explain. They almost invariably follow up with, "So that works?" I do shave my legs because hair under hose gets uncomfortable, but it's been 2+ years since I made that decision. Now, I wear hose as part of my everyday wear. It's just become routine. On rare occasion some immature kid will stare and/or snicker...but so what. The world is a lot more accepting than people realize. When it comes to women, I've found that many will ask. It makes for bit of a conversation starter. And once you move past it, it's usually a nonfactor. And I look at it this way, It's just clothing. How shallow does a woman have to be to let an item of clothing turn her away. The only thing really stopping you is you.

I could not agree with you more. All power to you. I have worn them for ever also and love it.
You are able to do something that I am not which is wear shorts, fair play. I wear them all of the time under trousers when I am out and at work, and with a skirt when I am in doors.
Like you I am proud of accepting who I am, and mostly do not hide the fact that I am wearing them under trousers. For me it is the smooth comfort, and the constant reminder that you are wearing them, that you are never allowed to forget, coupled with the Taboo of wearing something femme that I find the feeling of to be fantastic.
Keep it up, all power to you. I have stopped trying to justify my cross dressing, and for the last six years have accepted for myself that I just enjoy doind it initially, and secondly find femme attire so much more comfortable to wear.

Of all my time wearing tights, they haven't made me feel sexy, not at all. During the winter months, they're very practical, adds an extra layer of warmth under your pants.

But to call this cross dressing, in my mind, is wrong. Where does the thought that tights are a female-only item come from? For bras, I can understand, males don't ned the support in that place, and miniskirts, were never intended for men. Long skirts in really old times were male clothing, presumably sewing a crotch just wasn't worth the extra effort or something like that. But tights, really, what are they? Just extremely long and thin socks that pull all of the way up to a person's hips/waist... In essence, just thin, close fitting trousers with integrated socks. Female only? I don't see it myself.

Since the age of 13 I've never felt that I shouldn't wear them, although I always wear them under trousers. Despite the fact I've always been comfortable while wearing them, the only person who actually knows is my mum. People always say they're not shallow, and that you'll be friends no matter what. However, it's very difficult to prove that as true, as it just takes one small thing (possibly wearing clothes deemed for the opposite sex), to freak them out, and have them run a mile, or more. Oh, and have nothing more to do with you.

Guys who are happy to wear tights should do so.
Those who have even the smallest thought, that what they are doing is wrong, should not, as they probably won't be comfortable

It may seem a little daunting to go and buy your first pair, but just do it. The only stigma is in your head because you feel guilty about wanting something that society says is not normal therefore not acceptable. In reality of course this is not the case, no one actually cares. I have been wearing and buying tights for ever, I get most of mine through a Hosiery supplier on the local market, but you can also get them from Supermarkets or even order them on line, there really is nothing to it once you have done it the first time. I suggest that if you are really uncomfortable the first time that you buy a multi pack from any supermarket along with other items when you are shopping and build up your confidence from there. You may think that the Check out girl will assume that they are for you, I suggest to you from personal experience that they do not even look, and if they do, will assume that you are getting them for someone else. So Go on be brave and join the clan, we have all been there at some time or other, and post back here when you have done it.
You will experience a most satisfying sense of achievment, and one hell of an adrenalin rush. Here to support you.

Normal, what is considered "normal"?

Normal is a matter of culture and personal views, at least I think so.
I myself am raised having tights in my wardrobe and wearing them on cold winter days. There wasn't a label "for women only", no it was purely for comfort.
To this day on I have been wearing them whenever I felt the need to, and nobody makes a fuss about it (but this can be due to the fact that wearing them is fairly normal around here).

So then again, how can it be a fact that wearing certain clothing is perverted or not normal. I think the persons who claim this are very single minded and have a serious lack in interest in other cultures and feelings.

Men Wearing pantyhose

Postby my view on Sat Sep 29, 2007 8:59 pm

There are very good reasons for men to wear support pantyhose, and some of the most important ones are leg and blood circulation; leg health; leg and feet swelling; leg vein health issues; and leg pain.

Women have been able to wear whatever they choose, whenever they choose, including men's clothes. In fact over the years they have taken over many men's clothing options, which have caused men to abandon many of them, making what used to be men's clothing now women's clothing. Nobody gives a second thought to anything any woman decides to wear, because they have declared absolute right to wear whatever they want whenever they want. No one thinks women are strange, wierd, odd, unusual, gay, or crossdressing because of any particular article of clothing they choose to wear.

It is high time that men have the same ability and freedom to choose articles of clothing without people giving it a second thought; the same freedoms and abilities women demanded and didn't care what anyone thought. While this should be true for any choice, it should especially be true when it comes to articles of clothing that provide some health or quality of life or relief of pain benefits that support pantyhose can bring under many situations.

I believe both men and women should have the free choice to wear or not wear pantyhose. While both men and women should also be free to decide whether to shave their legs or not when wearing pantyhose; I personally think both men and women should shave their legs if they are going to wear pantyhose, especially if they are going to wear them in the open such as in shorts, skirts, or dresses. I don't believe women should be required to shave if wearing hose, but then men have the choice of shaving when wearing hose. If women are expected to shave when wearing hose, so should men be expected to shave when wearing hose.
