Men wearing pantyhose

Postby Mick on Fri May 28, 2004 4:34 pm

I am not sure how I came to be reading this but it's an interesting subject.
One thing that does bother me though is everyone who says it is wrong, keeps using the word "Normal". Who of us is actually normal?
Normal is defined as "That which is accepted by the majority". Have you ever been the subject of a joke, bullying, etc....?
If the answer is yes, sadly, you aren't normal either.
Hopefully something to think about.

Mick.

guys, thanks for contributing. :D

I guess opaque tights are no different from
long johns. in actuality.

tights are just a delicate version.

Hmmm..... Good question would be...

How many women wear long johns? and is it "accaptable" in society?

Hi all

I wasn't going to reply to this at first but, it got me thinking.

First of all, my b/f wears stockings and a garterbelt on occasion. It started off a few years ago after he lost a friendly bet. I think he looks sexy.

I can't speak for all women but, I don't have any problem with this. The thought of men wearing stockings as being taboo melted away the day I saw (and bought) his/hers matching garterbelts in a lingerie shop.

There are women out there that are turned off by this practice, just as there are men who are turned off by the sight of a woman wearing as well. It's just a matter of preferance.

Kisses

Sharon

Thanks for replying sharon.

I think that this could be more of a "Dont knock it till youve tried it" thing.

There appear to be quite a few males who have taken great joy wearing pantyhose, dressed as women on T.V.

A few Examples come to mind.

I wonder how many men secretly "do" like it?

And as history shows whatever "is the in thing" takes the mainstream.
Just look at views of mowhawk hairstyles, till footballers started sporting them...Then everyone was doing it.

If the media gradualy decided to make it "ok" for men to do it, bets is it would catch on, and the women would like it too.

I have often thought that people have the right to do anything they like if it doesn't hurt anyone else.

It alarms me when someone is picked on for being slightly different.

First they came for the Communists,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me,
and by that time there was no one
left to speak up for me.

Can't we just be tolerant of each other? I don't think I'd like to wear tights - I did once in a school play as one of Robin Hood's Merry Men - as a stimulating experience. But who am I to tell someone how to behave?

Get a life. If you don't like what someone is doing or saying and they're not hurting you then respect their right to say it.

After all, who cares - really - do you?

Just to demonstrate that they're not just for women, here is a list of companies that make sheer and opaque tights especially for men:

ActivSkin,
MSkin,
Ergee,
Wolford,
Levee,
Palmer,
Collanto,
Lex Extreme

Lets not bring religion into this, if they found out you would be likely to be stoned to death!

It's great that there are manufacturers out there making tights specifically for men. Hopefully more tights manufacturers will follow this lead.

I can vouch for the Ergee ones, I have several pairs. They're great for cold days and come with integrated y-fronts. The also come either footed or footless. I also have one pair of the Wolfords, they're fantastic but s*** expensive!

Can you please tell me, why - after contributing some open thoughts and feelings on this topic... You keep deleting my posts?

My last 3 have been deleted, and - I feel were as acceptable to the topic as the last few posted by "members"?- in less relevance to the topic than my last deleted one.

Is this a peer acceptance thing or not?

Or cannot guests post social materiel? As it seems only my strict topic posts have been left.

Fair enough... You deleted the picture of a woman in nice pantyhose.... The reason this is being a thread about "men" in them.

I accept that.

So, I offer to acquire & post a picture of myself in them, in proving they cant be sexy on men too.... Which seems to be more like you wanted, rather than men in them.

I understand this is a womens forum.
& if the moderator who deleted my posts is a woman, then I can see why she might have deleted the posts.

But really. I am a person with thoughts and feelings who has really tried enthusiasticaly to contribute to this thread. And being treated with different judgment than other posters just cause it says "guest" is not realy on.

I post as guest because its easy to check quich for replies and post in the thread.
If I have to join to have my posts valued, I will.

Legwear as Unisex Fashion

Postby Guest on Mon Jun 07, 2004 11:30 am

From Delphi's forum on Legwear as a Unisex Fashion (LAUF), here is an excellent example of a women promoting men's wearing of tights:

----------------------------------
Hello Members of LAUF!!!

My name is Cathy, and as Father’s Day approaches, I would like to share a story with all of you.

My husband is a 45-year old, hard-working man who carries around a little more weight than he should, and the nature of his job has him both standing and sitting for extended periods of time. His legs would often become tired, achy, and sometimes swollen. He complained about it a lot. It was heartbreaking to see my guy get leg cramps at night, but it was frustrating, too, as it disrupted my sleep.

This past Valentine’s Day, I gave Daniel a rather surprising (and admittedly unusual) gift. I gave him several pairs of Activskin Performance Wear for Men. In essence, I bought for him what all of us would call, um-well… tights and pantyhose!

You can imagine Dan’s shock and apprehension. His sense of masculinity was being stretched (pun intended) by my suggestion that it would not only be “okay” and “acceptable” for him to wear what has been traditionally considered a feminine garment, but doing so would actually HELP his aching leg muscles and improve blood circulation. The packages sat in his sock drawer for nearly three weeks before he actually got up the nerve to try on a pair. Dan said he’d finally reached a “breaking point” with his sore legs.

He said he wondered if the old TV commercials were true, that pantyhose could actually “massage” your legs, providing relief and improving circulation. Now he knows! Dan is now a modern, enlightened male and appreciates the many benefits of legwear, which, for men at least, are quite amazing. Next stop: Oprah! LOL!

My hubby, like so many guys his age, has gained a little weight over the years. Finding boxers and briefs that fit properly has always been problematic because his inner thighs would chafe from the seams and leg bands. Wearing the waist-high Activskin legwear, however, with its form-fitting material and intelligently designed “male comfort” front panel, has completely solved his dilemma.

Also, as a typical suburban “weekend warrior” who likes to bicycle competitively, Dan says the fabric blend effectively wicks away perspiration. This helps keep him dry, in turn keeping him warmer on cold days and cooler on hot days as he rides his bike.

Then there is the frightening thought of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a rather serious (potentially fatal) circulatory disorder caused by blood clots forming in the legs from sitting for too long. There have been a lot of news stories about DVT in recent months. This disease actually kills more people in America than AIDS and breast cancer, combined! People at greater risk include those who’ve had surgery, women on birth control pills, anyone overweight, smokers, and people with hypertension. The good news is that the compression found in “support” hosiery can help prevent this scary ailment.

Trusting me and taking my advice to wear Actviskin Performance Wear has been quite a revelation for my husband. The quality of his life has improved immensely. Dan’s leg muscles no longer suffer from fatigue. In fact, just yesterday he said, “My legs feel great! My energy level is up and my endurance has increased. I’m a believer!”

Since Dan wore that first pair, we’ve done some research on the Internet to find his “brothers in hose” and discovered there are more of them than we could ever imagine. We're so glad we've found LAUF!

Many of you truly appreciate the health benefits of support hosiery!

It's wonderful that so many non-crossdressing men wear sheer pantyhose and opaque tights on a daily basis for health reasons!!!

Ladies out there... If the man in your life also suffers from tired and achy legs, muscular cramps, or is a potential candidate for DVT, surprise him with an unusual but very practical Father’s Day gift, for which he will be grateful: support legwear for men.

After all, does he really need another tie?"
