I have one tattoo, a butterfly right next to my hipbone. I wanted it done for years but couldn't get up the courage until last year, but it's gorgeous (view from the side, black with deep blue markings). Ive got 6 tattoos now. The feeling of getting it done kinda hurts in the beginning but after a short period time it feels quite good really.
Ive got angel wings at the top of my back, a large sun at the bottom of my back, a tribal arch on my left hip, a cherry blossom on my right hip, a cherry blossom on my right wrist and 4 stars on my left inside ankle.

Tattoos are a big deal in jail. They usually mean jail time. Either you're on your way to jail, or you've been there.

I have heard a lot of people say that about people and tattoos and they couldn't be farther from the truth. Tattoos are just a way of expressing yourself creatively. Thats like saying people with their ears peirced are jail bound, or even as much as women wearing make-up. It has nothing to do with where you are going in life. Some of the most respected people have tattoos and what not. Or it can also be a type of scrap booking in a way, Some people record there special moments through pictures or even a diary and then you have those that get tattoos to remember. Like when my son is born I will get a tattoo to celebrate that. Does that put me even closer to throwing my life away (so to speak)?

Exactly. Tattoos are a self expression. Are you going to tell me I'm throwing my life away? I have a university education, my own home and I work as a teacher. And yet I have a tattoo. So what?
Don't be so judgmental. People use tattoos to express themselves and it has nothing to do with jail.

I think they're best if not overly big, well-placed and original/personal. Also helps if they're funny. Having said all that, I want a tattoo of a giant dragon with a machine gun that covers my whole back.

How is a tattoo jail art?
Ive never been to jail and never will. Its ridiculous that people have a stereotypical view towards things like tattoos and piercings in the 21st century when tattoos have existed for thousands of years.

You have to get out more. Everybody in jail, and anybody who has been to jail, is covered with tattoos. It's a criminal/gang thing. I guess there's not a lot to do in jail except tattoo each other. But don't let me stop you!
