My daughter has a new friend...I think?

Postby alli_han on Tue Dec 28, 2004 9:47 pm

Thank goodness I found this site and I am not alone.
We moved into our new house the other day, and the first night my daughter (age 23 months) was sleeping in her room and she awoke and was screaming. I went in and got her and thought she had a bad dream. I moved her into bed with me, she fell asleep and awoke a couple hours later screaming again. She jumped on top of me and hugged my neck so tight I couldn't breath. She wouldn't lay back down in the bed. I called in my brother (who was staying over Christmas holidays) and she practically climbed up him to get away from something on the bed. We moved to the couch, and she was fine for about ten minutes. She kept acting as though something was hurting her feet and her toes would cramp up. Everytime I would get her calm again, she would see something again and start screaming, then her arms shot up in the air and it took all my strength to bring them back to her sides and I held her tight.
I have never seen such fear in a childs eyes. She kept saying "a boy, a boy".
This went on until 6 am, when finally I said "Do you want to go for a car ride?" And the look of relief and a smile was so sad for me because I knew she was really terrified.
We got in the car in -40 degree celcius weather and spent the night at my ohter brothers place. She feel asleep in the car. She woke up at 11 am by jumping into my arms again. While we were there she again was seeing "a boy" that was "scary". She kept hugging me and saying "Boy make Anna cry, boy scary".
I thought maybe she had found a pill or something on the floor of our new house and ate it...or maybe she ate too much sugar from Christmas and was diabetic and I didn't know it.
The doctor said she is fine. I know this is not normal for her.
This is day three, and she keeps talking about "the boy". And every so often she comes running and screamming and looking at something "on couch"

Okay, I'm feeling much better now. My 2 year old has been seeing something. She'll say, "Who's that?", pointing at nothing. Sometimes it might be a sound that I don't hear. I haven't made a big deal about it and we don't bring it up, only she does. Whatever she sees is only in her room. Once she woke from her afternoon nap and announced, "The ghost is gone". We haven't used the term 'ghost' at all around her since Halloween. Last night was the first time she was descriptive and referred to it as, "Who's that kid?" Part of me thinks this is an imaginary friend but a very open-minded part of me believes it's a harmless spirit. Maybe we aren't the 7th owner of our home without reason! I'm very curious and don't lead her into conversation but ask her a couple of questions to learn more about it. She'll get a completely blank look over her face, dare I say, like she's seen a ghost. Then we move onto something else. Since there seems to be no harm, I'm leaving this alone.

She never seems afraid of her, just says 'the pretty white lady was smiling at me when i woke up in the night' or 'I had a bad dream, but the lady made it go away' I think its a sweet little girl thing, to do with her imagination, or maybe that there is really a ghost there. it doesnt seem to worry her, so I dont want to take it away.
I was just wondering how many otther mum and dads on here have experiences of their little ones seeing ghosts?

    Son see's a scratchy monster

Postby scaredintexas on Sun Jan 16, 2005 6:33 pm

I have a 3 year old son, who, for the past year has told us he see's a scratchy monster. We don't let him watch scary movies and we monitor what he looks at and watches on tv. He will be playing or sitting in another room and out of the blue start crying and shaking and getting extremely scared. Every time we ask whats wrong he tells us its a scratchy monster. Sometimes, he will ask "who is that" and point and, of course, my husband and I don't see anything or anyone. He will also talk to people who aren't there. But, for the most part, its always the scratchy monster. I feel aweful becuase we can't make it go away b/c we don't see it. I hate to see him so scared and frightened. Any help, advise or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    My Daughter see's ghosts

Postby Elainne northants uk on Mon Jan 17, 2005 1:23 pm

When my daughter was two she started seeing and talking to lights that she called chettles, she still see's them now but more disturbing is that she see's ghosts. This has been happening now for 10 years, she is now 14 and see's them all the time. They are not a mist or a light but actual people she see's. She discribes them to me and goes into great detail.
They never speak to her and they are of all different age groups.
Each night when she goes to bed she feels something stroking her hair and when ever she looks in a mirror she see's a lady standing behind her.
My daughter is becomming quite frightend now as they appear all day and every day now and recently she was having a sleepover when we heard screeming, I ran upstairs to see a bag of popcorn floating above her head and the play station was moving all on its own. I just could not explain how this could happen. My daughter is concerned that things may become violent, how can I reassure her that this will not happen.

Hi there, I am relieved to find this sight also. All of a sudden my son who is 28 months woke yesteday morning and was petrified. He was screaming and crying and claiming someone was in his room. Each night my son crawls into bed with my husband and I and I have let this go on so when he woke in my bed yesterday morning claiming someone was in his room I was nervous. I went to look and he screamed more saying no mommy no go please no go. I insisted on going to prove nothing was there he continued to cry he even was calling this person by name saying Seeta hurt Spencer Seeta hit spencer. It seems as though this person stays only upstairs and he scares as soon as we go up there. We are the only owners of this house and prior to the building this was all farm land (no houses though). He was potty trained but now he refuses to go upstairs to the potty and has had several accidents to the point I think I will have to return to diapers. He crys that his 4 month older brother is also being hurt by this Seeta however he has not been crying at all. i really don't no what to do. I can't distinguish this from an imaginary friend or a ghost. I really hate to see my son so upset. i really need help in figuring a solution out. My mother thinks I should just ride it out and it will go away it is just an over active imagination, but when i look at the pure fear in his face I think differently. If something has worked for you please let me know. Diane

Hey everybody. I am 14 and i have had that gift for ages. They wont hurt your children there ghosts if your child fears them they will haunt the child. But they are rather friendly and your child is blessed to be able to do that. Danny Sancubus is mine there well as i like to say helpers by there sides watching over dont be afaraid. Most wont hurt you or the child. I used to get pushed on a swing and now we mostly talk and he is oneof my best friends. May sound weird its true though. Me and danny are going to go. He is messing with my pen so i will go to the mall with him.

I think my 17month old can see a ghost

    Postby JJohnson1343 on Mon Jan 31, 2005 3:37 am

Hello everyone! I'm definitely happy that I came across this message board. I am hoping that I can get some advice as what to do. My soon to be 17 month old has just been acting weird tonight out of the blue. We have lived in the same place since before he was born. I have a rocking/glider chair in my living room (which has always been there) that he has just became frightened of. It is sooooo odd. If he is in the kitchen and I walk in the living room he will scream until I pick him up and bring him in the living room with me (same thing if he is in the living room). At first I had no idea what was wrong with him, until i sat him down on the rocking chair, then realized that it has something to do with our chair. There is nothing on it, nor near it. I am "assuming" that it would have to be a ghost. He is not afraid to go anywhere else in our home, but around that glider. The chair was purchased from a furniture store a month before he was born. It was brand new therefore the chair isn't haunted. My son is very frightened of a lot of things, including strangers. I keep thinking that maybe it's a bad ghost, but with my son it would be a friendly ghost that he is just scared of. I need some comfort. My Grandfather passed away a few months before Nathan was born, so I keep thinking that it's him coming to see Nate. If so I wouldnt want to get rid of him, only unfriendly ghosts. HELP PLEASE!!

I have a three year old son who has been seeing a lady in my room for about 4 months maybe longer but he has just begun talking about it one incident was I had just got off of work and it was me my three year old and my five month old and I was sitting on the couch directly across from him and he was just staring into my room I asked him what he was looking at and he told me mommy that lady just went into your room and she is standing by the tv, then he waited a few minutes and told me I think she is going outside now. Now I am 24 years old and ghost are my worst fear. We have had many things happen there since we moved in we have been there for over two years. We know that someone has died in there it is are land ladies mother she told us that the house was her mothers and after she died thay did not know wheather to rent the house or sell it. We have heard noises and stuff has fallen down by its self (but nor me or my husband have seen anything. However my son contiunus to tell us that he sees her. He said she is young like mommy which doesn't make sense. He sound so sincere when he tells us and he always says she's in my room. He has also told me that someone is beating him up and straching him ( I have never seen any marks on him) Me and my husband actually feel realy comfortable there she doesn't seem to bother us. But she is obivoulsy taking an effect on my son. What should I do? My sister says once they see them they will always see them.
