When Akshay Kumar gave his Star Screen Most Popular Actor award to Aamir Khan, he was praised by the Bollywood bigwigs.
But now it seems that he did it not out of generosity but anger. Apparently Akshay was promised the Best Actor award for his performance in Singh Is Kinng, but that award went to Hrithik Roshan.
Akshay was reportedly promised the award in exchange for performing at the event, as organised were reluctant to pay the hefty sum he was demanding.
He had even written an acceptance speech and given it to be set on the teleprompter. Hrithik, however was not expected to attend and only did so at the last minute, meaning he had to be awarded Best Actor for his superb performance in Jodhaa Akbar.
Organisers then called Akshay's name forward for the Most Popular Actor award, leaving the Bollywood actor furious and unable to escape going on stage.
He then decided to nominated Aamir for the award, knowing that the perfectionist actor never attends award ceremonies and he then left far before then ceremony had ended.
Sounds like new trouble is brewing in Bollywood over this latest award drama...
